Perennial herbs, 10-15 cm high, villous throughout. The root is long. It is almost stemless. Leaves numerous, 5-20 cm long; leaflets opposite or 4-6 whorls, linear or linear oblong, 7-10 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, entire, both surfaces villous. Raceme, several capitate, densely flowered, 10-15 mm long, axillary of root leaves; butterfly shaped corolla pink or purplish; bracts linear, villous, 4-5 mm long; calyx campanulate, villous outside, calyx teeth linear, villous on both sides; ovary pubescent, without ovary stalk, style base pubescent. Pods ovate, inflated, 10-12 mm long, 6 mm in diam., 1-locular, pubescent. The flowering period is from May to August. The fruiting period begins at the end of August.
Born in sand, bank, beach, hillside, etc. It is distributed in Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi, Hebei and Inner Mongolia.
