[plant morphology] Panax notoginseng
Perennial erect herbs with fleshy and hypertrophic perennial roots. The stem is fleshy, more than 1 meter high, purplish red when tender, branched when growing, smooth and with fine lines. Basal leaves numerous, tufted; serrated or pinnately divided, dark green above, purplish green below, with short hairs on both sides of veins; cauline leaves alternate, large, 8-24 cm long, 5-10 cm wide, pinnately divided, lobes ovate to lanceolate, margin lobed or sparsely serrated, apex short, apex acuminate, leaves smooth and glabrous on both sides; petioles 1-3 cm long; stipules 1 pair, 3-5 cm long Lobed, capitate, arranged in corymbose, sparsely shoot, 1.5-2 ha m long; involucre green, plucked or bell shaped, bracts linear lanceolate, 13-16 mm long, margin membranous, translucent, 10-12 arranged in a row, with several bracts outside the base; corolla tubular, yellow, 6-lobed, lobes linear to ovate, 7-10 mm long, apex pointed; stamen 5, connective Pistil 1, ovary inferior, stigma bifurcate, subulate, with short hairs. Achene linear, small, surface has edge, brown, crown hair most, white. The flowering period is from September to October.
Born in the wild or in the grass. -Most of them are planted in gardens. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hebei, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong, Guangxi, Taiwan, etc.
