The body is light blue, which is divided into umbrella part and wrist part. The body of the umbrella is thick and high. The diameter is usually 25-30 cm, and the larger one can reach 50 cm. There were 8 notches in the margin of the umbrella, and 1 sensory organ in each. There were 20 marginal flaps and 8 wrist and mouth flaps among the sensilla, each of which was divergent. There were 8 pairs of folded shoulder plates above them. There are many long appendages on the edge of each wrist and shoulder plate, and there is a rod-shaped appendage at the end of each wrist. 4 gonads, horseshoe shaped, located in the margin. In the inferior cavity of gonad, there is a small glial process. There are well-developed concentric circular muscles on the inner surface of the fimbria.

It grows near estuaries and in muddy sea bottom. From August to September, they often float on the sea in groups. It is distributed in the southeast coast of China, such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Shandong and so on.

When fishing, the long mark is used to pierce the umbrella body, and then the net is used to catch. [chemical composition] jellyfish contains 65 grams of water, 12.3 grams of protein, 0.1 grams of fat, 4 grams of carbohydrate, 18.7 grams of ash, 182 mg of calcium, 9.5 mg of phosphorus, 0.01 mg of thiamine, 0.04 mg of riboflavin and 0.2 mg of nicotinic acid per 100 grams. Each kilogram of dried jellyfish contains 1320 micrograms of iodine.

The newly caught jellyfish contain a lot of water and few solids. For example, a jellyfish contains 98.95% water, only 1.004% organic matter and 0.04% ash. Jellyfish also contain choline.

It can be taken for a long time without toxicity and side effects. It is more suitable for early patients.
