[plant morphology] pumpkin

Annual vines. The stem is more than 10 meters long and covered with bristles. The stem is pentagonal, hollow and slightly expanded. Leaves alternate; usually broad ovate, nearly round or heart-shaped, or sometimes lobed to pentagonal, about 15-30 cm long, apex pointed, base deep visceral, leaf margin slightly wavy curved, with irregular denticles, green above and light green below, with slightly hard hairs on both sides; petiole slightly longer than leaf, cylindric, hollow, with a tendril on the axillary side, similar to petiole The upper part of the branch has 5 young tendrils. Flowers unisexual, axillary, monoecious, yellow; female petiole is shorter and thicker than male petiole; calyx tube of male flower is short or almost absent, hairy, sepals long, erect, often expanded into leaf shape at the top, apex reversed, corolla bell shaped funnel-shaped, lobes wrinkled, outward reversed, top of filaments connected, nectary disk thickened; female calyx tube is flat at the upper part of ovary, corolla funnel-shaped, with 3 pseudostamens The nectary plate is thick, the ovary is inferior, the style is straight, and the stigma is bisectoid. Bottle gourd is large, oblong, oblong or ovate, the shape and size vary with varieties; the peel is generally dark green or green and white, and it is reddish brown at maturity; the fruit stalk is hard, pentagonal, with deep longitudinal groove on the surface, and the base is slightly expanded.
