Herbs perennial, all hairy, 10-37 cm high. Stem tetragonal, erect, base decumbent, branched. Leaves opposite, round, ovoid or reniform, 8-29 mm long, 10-28 mm wide, apex obtuse, base heart-shaped, margin serrate, both sides densely hairy; petiole 5-15 mm long. Flower ring with 2 flowers, integrated into lateral terminal raceme; bracts ovate, pubescent on both sides; pedicel base with 1 pair of setiform bracts; calyx campanulate, 2 mm long, mucilaginous outside, with 2 lips, entire, calyx tube dorsal with 1 cystic scutellum; corolla purple, 2-lipped, about 19 mm long, glandular and pubescent outside, upper lip apex concave, lower lip with 3 lobes ; stamens 2 pairs, not protruding, anther locules close; style bearing ovary base, apex 2-lobed, nutlets transverse, ovoid, with tuberculate processes. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit period is from June to September.

It grows on roadsides and hillsides. It is distributed in the middle, Southeast and southwest of China.
