[plant morphology] Aralia scandens
Perennial climbing grass vines, up to 5-10 m long. The taproot is well developed. Cylindrical, curved. The stem is grooved and pinstriped, glabrous, with obvious stipule sheath on the node and many branches; the branchlets are prismatic and cylindrical when old. Single leaf opposite, long elliptic to elliptic lanceolate, 10-15 cm long, 3.5-4.5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, upper green, lower white green, entire, smooth on both sides, glabrous, lateral veins 3-4 pairs, inconspicuous, petiole short. Flowers small, white, cymes terminal, dense. Fruit small, globose, ca. 5 mm in diam., black. It blooms in summer.
On the edge of shrubs or open forests on sunny hillsides. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
