Anisodamine leaf

[source] it is the leaf of Hyoscyamus scopoleatus, a solanaceous plant. The plant morphology is detailed in "tianxianzi".

[herbal medicine] most of the dried leaves are shrunk and broken. The intact ones are long ovate or triangular ovate, about 26 cm in length and 10 cm in width. The leaf tip is sharp, the leaf margin is irregular and pinnate. The lobes are triangular, black green on the top, light gray green on the bottom, densely hairy, and more hairy on the main vein. The substance secreted by glandular hairs is adhesive when the leaves are not very dry. The leaves are green, hairy, dry and free of impurities.
[chemical constituents] the leaves of scopolamine contain 20% ash and 0.045-0.14% total alkaloids, among which the main components are amantadine, scopolamine and atropine, and another bitter glycoside is amantadine.
