Sophora alopecuroides

Sophora alopecuroides
shrub. The branches are mostly broom like, densely covered with gray silky hairs. Leaves alternate, odd pinnate compound; leaflets 15-25, grayish green, rectangular, 1.5-2.5 cm long, sericeous on both sides, apical leaflets smaller; stipules small, subulate, persistent. Raceme terminal, 12-15 cm long; flowers dense; calyx densely covered with gray silky hair, with short triangular calyx teeth at the top; corolla butterfly shaped, yellow. Pods beaded, 3-7 cm long, densely covered with fine silky hairs, seeds yellowish, ovate.
Born in Tianbian, roadside, grassland, riverside, distributed in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Tibet and other places.

[collection] the whole grass was harvested in summer and the seeds were harvested in autumn.
[chemical constituents] the aboveground part contains 6.11-9.03% of biotricks, and the seed contains 8.11% of biotricks, including genistein, matrine, Sophoramine, sophocarpine, sophoridine, aloperine, etc. The leaves also contain sugar and protein.
[pharmacological action] intravenous injection of matrine, sophocarpine and sophoridine can cause the blood pressure of animals to rise first and then fall; it can excite the isolated myocardium of warm-blooded and cold-blooded animals; it can cause contraction of peripheral and visceral blood vessels. Matrine has stronger effect on blood pressure, but its effect on heart and blood vessel is weaker than sophocarpine and sophoridine. For other functions, please refer to "Sophora flavescens".
Bitter, cold and poisonous.
Functions and indications: clearing away heat and dampness, relieving pain and killing insects.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: whole herb decoction, 0.5-1 coin; seeds (fried until smoking, black) grind, 5 capsules each time.
[prescription selection] ① for acute and chronic dysentery and amoebic dysentery: 1 jin of Sophora alopecuroides, add 1000 ml of water, decoct, filter and concentrate to 500 ml. Take 2 ml each time, 3-4 times a day.
② Treat stomachache, slightly spit acid water: bitter bean five, ginger one money, dandelion two money, oxygen alumina 0.6 G. Grind fine powder together and take it with boiling water. Can also be used alone Sophora alopecuroides five, research powder Chongfu.
③ Treatment of sores and boils, wound suppurations, ulcers: Sophora alopecuroides appropriate amount, smash, decoction, wash the affected area, wash with sterile gauze bandage.

[clinical application] treatment of acute bacillary dysentery
Stir fry the bitter beans until they smoke and turn black. Sift through the flour. Adults take 1 g each time, 3 times a day, with boiled water. Children decrease according to age and weight. The effective rate was 95%. 142 cases were markedly effective (less than 9g, cured in three days), accounting for 71%; 43 cases were effective (between 9g and 15g, cured in three to five days), accounting for 24%; 10 cases were ineffective. There were 4 cases of dizziness, nausea, vomiting, irritability, palpitation, anxiety, pale and other side effects. The reasons may be related to the excessive dose (2G at a time) and the unqualified drug frying. In addition, patients with rheumatic heart disease or kidney disease are also prone to side effects. It is reported that this product can only be used after it has been roasted and qualified. In addition to bacillary dysentery, it also has analgesic, stomach strengthening, digestion and sedative effects. It has been used to treat gastroenteritis, infantile dyspepsia, cholecystitis, acute and chronic stomachache, abdominal pain, abdominal distension and urticaria, and has received certain effects.
