[plant morphology] eggplant

The stem is smooth or glabrous when it is 2 years old. The leaves are alternate, with long stalks; the root leaves are ovate or oblong ovate, up to 30-40 cm long, with blunt apex, wedge-shaped or heart-shaped base, wavy margin; the stem leaves are rhombic, ovate, obovate or oblong, smaller, and the apical bracts become linear; the leaves are fleshy, light green or dark green, and purplish red.
