Evergreen shrub, 3-4 m high. Branches brownish green, glabrous, epidermis irregularly lobed when old, simple leaves alternate, often densely distributed at the top of branchlets; narrowly oblong, apex short acuminate, base cuneate, entire. Dark green above, brown yellow or gray brown tomentose below, veins slightly concave above, midrib prominent below; short petiole. Inflorescence globose, terminal; flowers large, red, lobes 5. Capsule cylindrical.
It grows on the hillside, roadside, and in the bushes near the village. Distributed in Tibet and other places.
[collection] harvest from May to June. Fresh or dry in the shade.
[nature and taste] it is cool in nature, bitter in taste, and poisonous.
Functions and indications: asthma relieving, heat clearing, detoxification, hemostasis and menstruation regulating. Treatment of chronic bronchitis, osteomyelitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, bleeding, hemoptysis, irregular menstruation.
