[plant morphology] Sorbus unguiculatus
Deciduous shrub, 2-5M high. Branchlets gray or brownish brown. It is composed of odd pinnate compound leaves, alternate or clustered at the top of short branches, 5-13 cm in length; 25-33 leaflets with narrow wings on the leaf axis; the leaflets are oblong, 1-1.8 cm in length, 4-7 mm in width, with blunt apex, short tip, 4-13 spines on the edge, inclined base, dark green above and gray green below. Corymb, terminal; calyx tube campanulate, apex 5-lobed, lobes ovate triangular, smooth or hairy; petals clawed, white, 5-5.5 mm long, smooth; stamens 15-20; carpels 5, rarely 4; style base connate, ovary inferior, smooth. Pear fruit, small globose, 5-9 mm in diameter, white or lavender. The flowering period is from May to June.
