[plant morphology] Blumea balsamifera
Perennial woody herbs, 1-3 meters high, all densely covered with yellow fluff or silk hair, with the aroma of borneol when crushed. Leaves alternate; leaves elliptic or oblong lanceolate, 10-17 cm long, 1.2-2.5 cm wide, apex pointed, base narrow, decurrent petiolate, or subsplicate, margin irregularly serrate, both surfaces densely hairy. Inflorescence terminal, corymbose; involucral bracts several rounds, outer ring shorter than inner ring; tubular flower yellow, heteromorphic, marginal flower female, disk flower bisexual, apex 5-lobed; anther stamen 5-lobed; pistil 1, ovary inferior, stigma 2-lobed, linear. Achene with 10 ribs, corolla pale white. The flowering period is from March to May. The fruit period is from September to October.
Growing in hillside grass or bushes. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and other places. It is cultivated in Guangxi and Guizhou.

[collection] it can be collected all year round, but the quality of autumn is better. Dry in the sun after harvest.
[herbal medicine] the dry leaves are slightly shrunk or broken, with fine serrated edges, grayish green on the top, slightly rough, covered with short hairs, and densely covered with white long silky hairs on the bottom. The tender leaves are densely covered with silver long silky hairs on both sides, the veins are yellow, and the bottom is prominent; the petioles are semicircular, densely covered with short hairs. The leaves are crisp and fragile.

[pharmacological action] its extract can cause blood pressure drop, vasodilation and inhibit sympathetic nervous system when injected into animals. It can be used in patients with excitement, insomnia or hypertension. It was also reported that its extract could diuresis, but it was weaker than tea extract.
