[plant morphology] Lepidoptera pallida
Liana woody, with fine stripes, up to 10-20 m long. The leaves are alternate, rhomboid, broadly ovate to broadly ovate, 3.5-6 cm long and 4-6.5 cm wide, apex with a short pointed tip, base nearly round, margin slightly wavy, with 5 basal veins protruding below, and petiole 3-7 cm long. Cymose panicle on old stem or deciduous branches; male inflorescence 20 cm long, sepals 6, pale yellow, black striped, ovoid oblong, petals 6, wide obovate, with ears on both sides, holding filaments and stamens 6; female inflorescence 15-20 cm long, sepals and petals similar to male, staminode 6, carpel 3, ovary semiovoid, stigma outward It stretches out in the shape of a lip. Drupe obovate oblong, flat, depressed in the middle, powdery. The flowering and fruiting period is spring.
It grows in hillside, gully, sparse forest or shrub. It is distributed in the South and southwest of China.
