Liu Lichuan
Liu Lichuan (1820-1855), a native of Xijiao village, Xiangshan County (now Xijiao village, Shaxi Town, Zhongshan City), formerly known as a yuan, has a small character of a Hun. He used to treat injuries with herbal medicine. The leader of Shanghai knife Association in the late Qing Dynasty.
Personal experience
In 1845, he took part in the earth and sky meeting in Hong Kong. Become the backbone of Hongmen.
In 1849, he came to Shanghai and became the leader of Shanghai knife club.
After the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom conquered Nanjing in 1853, he joined hands with Chen Alin, Zhou Lichun, pan Qiliang and others to launch the Shanghai Xiaodao uprising. On September 7, he occupied Shanghai, established political power, rebuilt the Daming state, and served as the Grand Marshal of the unified politics and religion of the Daming state. Later, he was renamed the Grand Marshal of the unified politics and religion of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. He sent a letter to Hong Xiuquan, saying that he accepted the leadership, but failed. In Shanghai, he persisted in fighting against the Qing army and the British, French and American aggressors.
On February 17, 1855, when he abandoned the city and broke through the siege, he died in Hongqiao, Shanghai.
