Yang Kai
Yang Kai, born in 1920 in Cixi, Zhejiang Province, has a college education. He joined the revolutionary work in April 1936 and the Communist Party of China in October 1941. In November 1937, on the eve of the fall of Shanghai, he went to Yan'an Shanbei public school to study.
He died of illness on August 4, 1986 at the age of 66.

He has done a lot of work for the construction of military academies and training of military cadres. In June 1966, he was appointed Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of the East China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. he served as the leader of the core group of Shanghai Jiaotong University in November 1972 and the Secretary of the Party committee of Shanghai Jiaotong University after July 1973. After 1977, he served as director and Secretary of the Party group of the education and Health Office of the Shanghai municipal government, deputy director of the Shanghai Revolutionary Committee, vice mayor of Shanghai, consultant of the Shanghai municipal government, vice chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, director of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of language education and writing, honorary president of the Shanghai Red Cross Society, President of Shanghai TV University, etc. during his term as vice mayor (1979.12-1983.4), he was in charge of culture, education, health and sports. He died of illness on August 4, 1986 at the age of 66.
Jiaotong University as
Most of his time in Jiaotong University was during the "Cultural Revolution". The party organization of Jiaotong University headed by him adhered to the party's principles, relied on the masses, and resisted and struggled against the "Lin Biao and Jiang Qing counter revolutionary groups" whenever possible. After the "Cultural Revolution", he led the whole school to bring order out of chaos, rectify teaching, and achieved certain results.
