Wei Huan Gong Wei Wan

（？ In 719 BC), the surname of Ji was Wei, the son of Duke Zhuang and the elder brother of Duke Fei and Duke Xuan. The 13th monarch of Wei kingdom was in power from 734 BC to 719 BC.

His mother's name was Dai GUI, a woman from the state of Chen. After Dai GUI died, Duke Zhuang of Wei ordered his wife Zhuang Jiang to take care of his son and make him the crown prince. In 735 BC, Wei zhuanggong died, and the crown prince Wan succeeded him to the throne. In 733 BC, Duke Huan of Wei was dismissed from his post because of his arrogance and luxury, and Zhou Xu fled from the state of Wei.

In 719 B.C., zhouxu gathered refugees from the state of Wei to kill Duke Huan. In history, he was called the Duke of Wei. Duke Huan of Wei became the first monarch to be killed in the spring and Autumn period.

To be the crown prince

Duke Huan of Wei? (719 BC), surnamed Ji, surnamed Wei, surnamed Wan, son of Duke Zhuang, elder brother of Duke Fei and Duke Xuan. At first, Duke Wei married Zhuang Jiang, Princess of Qi, as his wife. Zhuang Jiang was beautiful, but he had no fertility. Later, Wei Zhuang Gong married Li Gui (mistaken for Li Si in historical records) as his wife and gave birth to his son Xiao Bo, who died very early. Dai GUI, the younger sister who married with Li Gui, was favored by Zhuang Gong in front of Wei, and gave birth to a son named Wan. After Dai GUI's death, Wei zhuanggong asked Zhuang Jiang to raise Wan as his own son and make Wan prince.

Succession to the throne

In the 23rd year of Duke Zhuang of Weiqian (34th year of Duke Hui of Lu, 735 BC), Duke Zhuang of Weiqian died, and the crown prince Wan succeeded him to the throne. In the second year of Duke Huan of Wei (the 36th year of Duke Hui of Lu, 733 BC), Duke Huan of Wei dismissed his younger brother Zhou Xu because of his arrogance and luxury, so Zhou Xu fled from the state of Wei.

Warring States

On October 14, the 13th year of Duke Huan of Wei (722 BC), Duke Yin of Lu buried his father Duke Hui of Lu. Duke Huan of Wei went to the state of Lu to attend the funeral. In the same year, Gong shuduan, the younger brother of Zheng zhuanggong, the monarch of the state of Zheng, launched a rebellion and led the army to attack Zheng zhuanggong. Gong shuduan fled because he failed to win. Zhou Xu asked to make friends with Gong shuduan. Gongsun, the son of Gongshu Duan, fled to the state of Wei. Duke Huan of Wei sent soldiers to attack the state of Zheng for him and occupied the state of Zheng. Zheng zhuanggong led Zhou Tianzi's army and Guo's army to attack the southern border of Wei, and asked Ying to send troops. The king of Ying sent people to discuss with Yu, the prince of Lu, privately. Yu asked Lu Yingong to send troops to rescue him, but Lu Yingong didn't agree. Yu left by himself and made an alliance with Ying and Zheng in Yidi. In the fourteenth year of HuanGong (the second year of luyingong, 721 BC), zhengzhuanggong sent troops to attack the state of Wei to attack gongsunhua.

Killed by my brother

In the 16th year of Duke Huan of Wei (the fourth year of Duke Yin of Lu, 719 BC), Zhou Xu gathered refugees who fled from the state of Wei to attack and kill Duke Huan of Wei. He became the monarch of the state of Wei, which is known as the abolishing Duke of Wei in history. Duke Huan of Wei was the first monarch to be killed in the spring and Autumn period. Soon after, Shi Qi, the Minister of the state of Wei, joined hands with Chen Huan Gong to kill Zhou Xu, and supported Jin, the younger brother of Wei Huan Gong, to succeed him.

Political initiatives

During the reign of Duke Huan of Wei, there were many wars between Wei and Zheng. In 722 B.C., Duke Huan of Wei sent troops to capture jueyan of the state of Zheng, and held alliance with the states of Lu and Jue.

Feng Menglong's Chronicles of the states of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty: "Zheng zhuangke's section of Tianlun is thin, and he still wins the battle. Marquis Huan (Duke Huan of Wei) tied his hand and died."
