Meng Liguo - personal honor
In the 1950s and 1960s, Mr. Meng Liguo and Wang Jialiang were known as the "double tigers of Northeast China". He is famous for his fierce attack and fierce style of chess. In particular, his killing elephant into the game can be called a unique, amazing, amazing! So "killing elephant expert" has become his "patent".
In 1958, at the age of 22, Meng Liguo made his debut in the world of chess and became a powerful player. Wang Jialiang and Ren Dechun both won by killing elephants. In the 1960 National Games, he defeated Cai Furu of Guangdong and Zheng Yaxing of Guangxi. He also won by breaking elephants, so he was called "an expert in killing elephants".
In April 1988, the 14th National Team chess competition was held in Xiaogan, Hubei Province. Meng Liguo returned to the world in his 50th birthday. There were a lot of onlookers in the battle between him and Hebei rookie Yan Wenqing. The opponent used the immortal to guide the way to fight against the pawn. In the 12th round, Meng set his horse at the enemy's muzzle and resolutely grabbed the horizontal car. In the 20th round, he abandoned the car and chopped the horse, and the car and double guns became the winner. Master Chen Xiaokun was full of praise: "Lao Meng's shunpaoduan is powerful. The sword is not old!"
Known as "double cannon"
In fact, Meng always started his career by fighting guns. His smooth and skillful moves are known as "double cannon". Tu Jingming, a famous hostess, commented: "Meng is quite innovative in the layout. He has a style of horse harness in the middle of the journey." In the 1962 Hefei competition, his backhand fought with Anhui famous general Xu Heliang to win the ShunPao. In the fourth round, he went out of the new move of "two into three" and used this magic weapon to shock Xiaoyaojin. This innovation has injected new blood into the ancient layout of ShunPao, which is listed as "Meng's jumping horse" by layout researchers. Two years later, under his influence, Hu ronghua innovated to jump from the right horse to the right one, which became Hu's "zhenshanbao".
In the year of the weak crown, he was as famous as Ren Dechun in Shenyang, and he was also known as "the Northeast double tigers" with Wang Jialiang for his excellent fighting skills. He won the title of chess master in 1982 and senior coach in 1988. Under his command, Zhao Qingge, Guo Changshun, bu Fengbo, Shangwei and other famous generals gathered. In 1978 and 1984, they won the national team championship, becoming a famous northern team. In 1986, Meng Laolian was not old enough to win the championship of Liaoning Province. In 1987, he visited Singapore and won the second place in the world chess Invitational Competition.
The book and sword
There are several chess scholars in the chess world who are famous for their unremitting efforts. Among them, Meng Liguo can be called the master of both books and swords. The poem says: "after a hundred battles, galloping the chess array, the article is natural and unrestrained, and the pen is vivid.". A senior sports reporter put it more vividly: "Meng Liguo can play chess with one hand and write a composition with the other." In the early 1980s, he founded and served as the chief editor of chess friends magazine. His chess essays were brilliant and well-known, and his representative works, the spring and Autumn period of the chess world, opened up a new chapter in chess criticism.
