Yang Jichang
Yang Jichang, born in January 1946 in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, is a former president of Jiangsu University and an expert in mechanical engineering. In 1982, he graduated from Jiangsu Institute of technology with a master's degree in mechanical manufacturing. From October 1991 to March 1993, he worked as a senior visiting scholar in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, engaged in the research of metal cutting mechanism. He is now a professor and doctoral supervisor of Jiangsu University, executive director of advanced manufacturing technology research association of Chinese universities, vice chairman of Jiangsu Branch of China Society of mechanical engineering, vice chairman of Jiangsu metallurgical industry association, and member of the Central Committee of China Democratic League. He has successively served as deputy director, director and vice president of the Graduate Department of Jiangsu University of technology. He was president of Jiangsu University in August 2001.

Yang Jichang graduated from mechanism major of Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1969 and graduated from mechanism major of Jiangsu University in 1982 with a master's degree in engineering, From October 1991 to March 1993, he worked as a senior visiting scholar in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Main research direction
Professor Yang Jichang has been engaged in the teaching and research of mechanical manufacturing and automation for a long time. His main research directions are as follows: 1. Mechanism and application of laser processing, systematic scientific research on the mechanism of laser shock wave, and application in practical engineering fields such as material surface modification and sheet metal forming, with remarkable achievements; 2. Micro electro mechanical system and micro nano technology, research on superconducting state The mechanism of micro nano friction is studied, and the shock wave nondestructive testing technology for surface characterization of micro electrical devices is proposed; 3. Cutting mechanism and control. Cutting dynamics theory is used for the first time to realize the prediction and control of metal cutting surface quality.

Visit Australia
At the invitation of the president of the University of South Queensland in Australia, President Yang Jichang led a delegation to visit the University of South Queensland from March 23 to 26, 2009, entrusted by the chairman of the board of directors of the University of South Queensland.
