Liu Rengui
Liu Rengui (601-685, March 2) was born in Weishi, bianzhou (now Zhangshi Town, Weishi County, Henan Province). The prime minister and famous general of the Tang Dynasty, after Liu Ji, Emperor Zhang of the Han Dynasty.
Liu Rengui was born in the Wei family. Since he was young and poor, he was respectful and eager to learn. As an adult, he learned a lot about literature and history. In the time of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, he was famous for his outspokenness and courage to remonstrate. After Tang Gaozong ascended the throne, he successively served as the governor of Qingzhou, the governor of daifangzhou, and the junior of tongzhongshu. During the period of guarding Baiji, he was famous for rescuing Silla and defeating the Japanese and Baiji allied forces in the battle of baijiangkou. At one time, he was ordered to defend Tubo by the garrison Ambassador of Taohe road army. When Empress Wu was regent, she was left behind in Xijing and was granted the official title of Lecheng county.
In 685, Liu Rengui died in 1984. The book was presented to Kaifu Yitong, the third division and the governor of Bingzhou. Emperor Zhongzong of Tang Dynasty ascended the throne and presented it to Taiwei. In the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, he pursued the posthumous title of "Literature" and enjoyed the Gaozong temple. His works, such as Xingnian Ji and Yonghui liuben, are now lost.
Life of the characters
Early experience
Liu Rengui was born in a poor family, but he was fond of learning. He was unable to concentrate on his studies because of the peasant uprising at the end of the Sui Dynasty. Every time after work, Liu Rengui stretched out his fingers to write in the air or on the ground to consolidate his knowledge. Later, he became famous for his erudition. In the early years of Wude (618-626), Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty, Ren GUI, an ambassador of Henan Province, drafted a memorial to discuss state affairs. Liu Rengui saw the draft and revised a few sentences for him. Ren GUI was surprised by his talent and learning, so he was appointed to join the army in Xizhou by the red letter. Not long after, Liu Rengui was transferred to Chencang county. At that time, Zhechong Du Wei Lu Ning was arrogant and illegal, and successive Chencang county officials were unable to stop him. After Liu Rengui took office, he specially warned Lu Ning not to commit a felony, but Lu Ning was still as violent as before, so he killed him with a cane. The officials in the prefecture reported the matter to the imperial court. Emperor Taizong said angrily, "a county captain killed my Zhechong captain. Is that ok?" He called Liu Rengui to the imperial court for questioning. "Lu Ning insulted me, so I killed him," Liu said Taizong believed that Liu Rengui was resolute and upright. Instead of punishment, he was promoted to Xianyang county magistrate. In the autumn of the 14th year of Zhenguan (640), Taizong was going to hunt in Tongzhou (now Weinan, Shaanxi). At that time, the autumn harvest was not over, and Liu Rengui was dissuading. Taizong then issued an imperial edict to comfort him, saying, "although your position is low, I appreciate your loyalty to serve the country." Before long, Liu Rengui was granted the order of Xin'an County, which tired the officials to the work.
Repeatedly framed
Although Liu Rengui was honest and upright, he was disgusted by Li Yifu, the favorite Minister of Zhongshu. In the fourth year of Emperor Gaozong's Xianqing reign (659), Liu Rengui offended Li Yifu by dealing with the "Bi Zhengyi case", and was demoted to be the governor of Qingzhou (now Qingzhou, Shandong). In the fifth year of Xianqing (660), Gaozong sent troops to attack Baiji, and Liu Rengui was ordered to supervise shipping. Knowing that the time was not right, Li Yifu forced him to go to sea. As a result, the fleet sank in the wind and was seriously injured. The imperial court sent the censor Yuan Yi to supervise the trial. After the case was closed, Li Yifu said to Gaozong, "if we don't chop Liu Rengui, we can't apologize to the people." She Renyuan said with a straight heart: "the sea storm, this is not by manpower can be expected." So Gaozong only removed Liu Rengui from his post and followed him as a civilian. Li Yifu also signaled Lang General Liu Renyuan to kill him, because Liu Renyuan couldn't bear it. In the same year, Su dingfang, the great general of zuowuwei, pacified Baiji. After the war, Liu Renyuan was appointed as the governor, and together with Jin rentai, the young son of King jinchunqiu of Silla, he guarded the capital city of Baiji (now Fuyu County, Zhongqing South Road, South Korea). In Tang Dynasty, Xiongjin Dudu was set up in Baiji, and Zuo Wei Zhonglang General Wang Wendu was appointed as Xiongjin Dudu. But Wang Wendu fell ill when he crossed the sea, so Gaozong gave Liu Rengui a censor and a governor of Fangzhou to take the place of Wang Wendu.
foretell like a prophet
In the sixth year of Xianqing (661), the old generals of Baiji, such as monk Daochen and guishifuxin, established the old prince to support Yufeng as the king. The movement of Baiji's restoration of the country was launched, and the army rose against the Tang army and besieged Liu Renyuan in Fucheng. Liu Rengui, together with the Silla army, rescued Liu Renyuan, defeated the besieged Baiji army, and joined Liu Renyuan in the city. At that time, the Soviet Union had besieged the capital of Koguryo for a long time. Because of the unfavorable war and the heavy snow, it withdrew from Pyongyang. Liu Rengui asked himself to stay at Baiji. Gao Zong ordered Liu Rengui to lead his troops to Xinluo to discuss with Jin famin about the fate of the Tang army. All the officers and men wanted to go back to China. Liu Rengui said, "according to the spring and Autumn Annals, when officials go abroad, they can exercise arbitrary power as long as they can make the imperial court peaceful and the country beneficial. Now the emperor is ready to destroy Korea, the first to eliminate the baiji, leaving troops to guard, control its key. Although the traitor is powerful, we are very well guarded. We should sharpen our swords and guns, feed our horses, and take advantage of his unprepared condition to catch him unprepared. In this way, we can win a hundred battles and be sure of no mistakes. Then they divided their troops to occupy the dangerous area, opened up the situation, spread the message, played the news of the emperor, and asked the imperial court to send more troops. The imperial court knew the achievements of the war, and would support and take over the enemy, and then the enemy could be eliminated. Now that Pyongyang has not been conquered and Xiongjin has to give up, then Baekje will revive and Korea will be wiped out in unknown year and month. Besides, we are now living in the center of bandits with only one city (xiongjinfu city). If this city is lost, we will become fugitive criminals. Even if they are stationed in Silla, they are just like guests. In case of any accident, is it still time to regret? Fuyu Feng of baiji is suspicious of the ghost room's blessing. He seems to be in harmony with each other and is bound to not last long. We should stick to the change, and then we will take advantage of the chaos to eliminate them. At present, we should not act rashly. " Liu Rengui's admonishment not only satisfied Gaozong, but also was praised by many ministers. Things are going as they should. When the time was right, Liu Rengui took the initiative and sent people to investigate the military situation of Zhenxian city (now Cen County, South Korea) built by Fuxin, the ghost room. Later, he led the Silla army to attack Zhenxian city by night, climbed up the wall quietly, and broke into the city at dawn. Since then, the army of Tang Dynasty has been on the way of transporting grain to Silla.

Battle of Baekgang
< / sub > Fuyu Feng, king of Baiji, suspected that the ghost room Fuxin was fighting for power and killed him. He also heard that the Tang army had suddenly arrived and sent messengers to Japan and Koguryo for help. In the third year of longshuo (663), Japanese General Mao yezhizi and others led 27000 people to attack Silla. The imperial court ordered sun Renshi, the right guard general, to lead his troops across the Bohai Sea and join forces with Liu Rengui and others. The morale of the Tang army was greatly boosted. At this time, the public will discuss the target of attack. Someone said: "Jialin city (today's Sili, Linchuan mianjun, Fuyu County, Zhongqing South Road, South Korea) is an important road of land and water transportation. Why not attack it first?" Liu Rengui said: "the terrain of Jialin city is dangerous and the guard is strong, so the attack will cause a lot of casualties and the guard will last a long time. Zhouliucheng (now the old Hanshan town of Shuchuan County, Zhongqing South Road, South Korea) is the enemy's nest, where the enemy leaders gather. If Zhou Liucheng is conquered, the rest of the cities will naturally be captured. " According to the Tang army's subordinates, sun Renshi, Liu Renyuan and King Jin famin of Silla led the army to March, while Liu Rengui, Du Shuang and Fu Yulong led the water army to march along Xiongjin and Baijiang River to join the army. Liu Rengui met the Japanese army at baijiangkou. The Tang army won all four battles and burned 400 Japanese warships. For a time, the Japanese army was defeated because of "the sky was full of smoke and the sea was red". Fuyu Feng escaped and his sword was captured. Only Ren Cuncheng (today's Fengshou mountain, South daolishan County, Zhongqing, South Korea) occupied by commander Chi Shouxin has not been conquered. At the beginning, kuisha, who was in danger of death, was doomed. After the battle of baijiangkou, they surrendered to the Tang army. Liu showed his sincerity and asked them to capture Ren Cuncheng to prove his sincerity and supply him with weapons and food. Sun Renshi thought that this move might lead to their rebellion. Liu Rengui said: "I observe that Sha Zha Xiangru and black tooth Chang are sincere and resourceful. What do I doubt about taking the opportunity to make contributions?" Sha Zha Xiangru and others finally conquered Ren Cuncheng. Chi Shouxin fled to Koguryo alone, and the remaining forces of Baiji were completely eliminated. When sun Renshi and others returned to the dynasty, the imperial court ordered Liu Rengui to stay in Baiji.
Managing Baiji
Baiji suffered two wars, and the territory was seriously damaged. Liu Rengui ordered the dead to be buried and sacrificed. He reregistered residence registration, set up official departments, opened up roads, built villages, repaired dykes and dams, relieved poor families, encouraged agricultural production, built land shrines for them, and all the people in Baiji lived down. So the garrison cultivated land and planned to pacify Koguryo. When Liu Renyuan returned to the capital, Gaozong said to him, "you were a military general, but this time you wrote the instrument of playing the musical instrument very appropriately. How did you do that?" Liu Renyuan replied, "it's all written by Liu Rengui, not by me." Gaozong praised Liu Rengui, promoted him to the sixth rank, officially appointed him as the governor of daifangzhou, and awarded a house in Chang'an to his family. The special envoy of Gaozong sent the documents with imperial seal to commend Liu Rengui. during the reign of Emperor Taizong Zhenguan and Emperor Gaozong Yonghui, the imperial court sent envoys to pay homage to the soldiers who died in the battle. Some of them also transferred the official titles to his descendants. After Xianqing, there was almost no reward for the soldiers. When they arrived at pingbaiji and surrounded Pyongyang, the meritorious people were not screened and appointed at all. People in prefectures and counties do not want to be soldiers in military service. People who are healthy and well-off use their property to get through with the government
