His Sanqu does not avoid slang and vulgarity. Sometimes he uses common language in his Sanqu, which inherits the tradition of popular nature of early Sanqu. Zeng Rui, whose name is Ruiqing, comes from Pingzhou (now Lulong, Hebei Province) and Daxing (now Daxing County, Beijing).
