Wang Shoucheng, an official in power, was allowed to collude with Li Fengji, a prime minister, to repel dissidents and corrupt the discipline, which led to the dye industry riots.
In the second year of Baoli (826), Liu Keming, a eunuch, was killed. He was only 17 years old. His posthumous title was "emperor ruiwu Zhaomin", and his temple name was Jingzong. He was buried in zhuangling.
Life experience
Early experience
Li Zhan, Emperor Jingzong of Tang Dynasty, was the eldest son of Li Heng, Emperor muzong of Tang Dynasty, and his mother was empress dowager Wang Gongfu. He was born on June 7, the fourth year of Yuanhe (809) in the other hall of dongnei. In March of the first year of Changqing (821), he was granted King Jing. In December of the second year of Changqing (822), he became the crown prince.
Ascend to the throne as Emperor
In the first month of the fourth year of Changqing (824), the emperor Renshen died. Kuiyou was sixteen years old before the crown prince ascended the throne. After he ascended the throne, Li Zhan, Emperor Jingzong of Tang Dynasty, did not care about the country's major policies at all, and his pleasure was better than that of his father Mu Zong. The second month after emperor Jingzong ascended the throne, he went to Zhonghe hall one day to hit the ball, one day to feilongyuan to hit the ball, and the third day to have a big banquet in Zhonghe hall. Jingzong pursued hedonism, not even the emperor's routine in the early days. One day in March, the ministers came to the court to discuss affairs, but Jingzong didn't go to the court until the third day. In order to attend the court meeting, the ministers had to get up before dawn, and the emperor was late. For a long time, the officials couldn't hold on, so that some of them fainted. Li Bo, a counsellor, advised the new monarch on his behavior against the patriarchal system. Tang Jingzong, urged by his ministers, took a long time to come. After retiring from the imperial court, Liu Qichu, who was left to pick up the remains of the emperor, tried his best to admonish the emperor. He knocked his head at longlong, and his blood flowed continuously. Jingzong was very moved at that time, but he still did not change. Later, he even went to court two or three times a month. In order to make Jingzong be able to manage the government, Li Deyu, who worked in the local government, offered six pieces of Dan Jian Zhen to admonish him. Tang Jingzong ordered Hanlin scholar Wei chuhou to draft an imperial edict to praise Li Deyu, but he was still indifferent to his problems. Tang Jingzong's almost crazy amusement caused a series of emergencies in the palace. Shortly after he ascended the throne, a civilian named Xu Zhongxin broke into the bathroom door, causing a false alarm. In April, there was another serious incident in which dyeing workshop servant Zhang Shao contacted Su xuanming, the diviner, and hundreds of dyeing workers entered the youyintai gate. At that time, Jingzong was playing polo in Qingsi hall. He heard more than 100 people shouting and killing, and fled to Zuo Shence army for refuge. Kang Yiquan, a soldier of Zuo Shence's army, led his troops into the palace and killed Zhang Shao and others who had already attacked Qingsi hall and boarded the imperial couch to eat. On the autumn night of August, there was another plot by nearly 1400 people, including Ma Wenzhong, a demon thief, and Ji Wende, a quality official. All the people were killed by the staff. Emperor Jingzong of Tang Dynasty was fond of building a large scale of buildings. After he ascended the throne, from spring to winter, his works began one after another. The officials at all levels and the craftsmen were full of complaints. Zhang Shao, the servant of the dyeing workshop, was a slap in the face. The minister believed that these incidents were all due to Jing Zong's indulgence in amusement and his frequent absence from the palace, which provided opportunities for the lawless. Jingzong thought that the ministers' view was reasonable, but his play became more and more serious, and the pattern was constantly renovated. In November of the first year of Baoli (825), Tang Jingzong suddenly wanted to visit Lishan Mountain. The ministers tried their best to dissuade him, but he didn't listen. Zhang Quanyu kowtowed and remonstrated in the main hall, and said: "since King you of Zhou Dynasty, the emperors who have traveled to Lishan have no good ending. Qin Shihuang was buried there, and state II died. Xuanzong practiced in Lishan, but Anshan was in chaos. The former Emperor (mu Zong) went to Lishan, and died soon after he came back." After hearing this, Tang Jingzong aroused greater interest: "is Lishan so ferocious? The more so, the more I should go to verify your words. " As a result, regardless of the minister's opposition, he stubbornly went to the palace and returned to the palace today. He also said to the people around him, "what those who kowtow to me say may not be true." He did not take the opinions of his subordinates seriously. Tang Jingzong also liked to go to yuzao palace to watch dragon boat races. One day, he suddenly issued an edict to the salt and iron envoy. He wanted to build 20 boats and transport wood to the capital for repair. The total cost of this item will use half of the national transshipment funds of that year. Only after Zhang Zhongfang, a counsellor, and others, strongly admonished him, did he agree to reduce it by half. Tang Jingzong not only liked to play polo, but also wanted to participate in it. In June of the second year of Baoli (826), a grand sports meeting was held in the palace. There were many sports, such as polo, wrestling, Sanda, fighting, miscellaneous drama, and so on. The most creative is that emperor Jingzong ordered the soldiers of Shence to ride donkeys and play polo. Because Jingzong was in high spirits, he kept tossing until the night. Tang Jingzong also liked hunting. He usually didn't play enough during the day, so he took people to catch foxes at night for fun. The palace called it "hunting foxes at night". Tang Jingzong really likes playing, and he is really good at playing. It is fortunate that the Tang Dynasty did not subjugate the country in such an emperor's hands. In history, Jingzong was regarded as "no monarch". In fact, he was a competent emperor who did not play polo, which saved his face. We really don't see Jingzong's ability in governing the country, but his ability in playing can be seen everywhere. Jingzong is a master of polo and good at hand fighting. He always enjoys watching games such as wrestling, tug of war and dragon boat race. Tang Jingzong also specially raised a group of strong men, who were around day and night. He not only wanted to select the best men from all over the country, but also invested Wan Guan to recruit them in Neiyuan. He was very willing to spend money on them. As soon as Jingzong had fun, he had no scruples: some of the strong men were not inferior to him in their kindness, so Jingzong would often assign them to other people or leave their hometown; many eunuchs had minor offenses, such as abusing or beating, which made these people full of fear and resentment. The eunuchs Xu Suizhen, Li Shaoduan and Yu Hongzhi were also dismissed because of their poor cooperation with him. Jingzong's unbridled amusement soon brought him to the end.
The victim died
On the 8th of December in 826, Tang Jingzong went out to Fight Night fox again. After returning to the palace, he was elated and drank with eunuchs Liu Keming, Tian Wucheng, Xu Wenduan and batting generals Su Zuoming, Wang Jiaxian, Shi Dingkuan, etc. Tang Jingzong was drunk and hot. He went into the room to change clothes. At this time, the hall lights suddenly went out, Liu Keming, Su Zuoming and other accomplices killed Tang Jingzong, only 17 years old. In addition to Tang Ai Di, the monarch of the late Tang Dynasty, Tang Jingzong was the shortest emperor in the Tang Dynasty. After the death of emperor Jingzong of Tang Dynasty, the posthumous title of the ministers Gong was Emperor Zhaoxiao of ruiwu. On July 13, the first year of Taihe (827), Emperor Wenzong of Tang Dynasty was buried in zhuangling.
Historical evaluation
Cai Dongfan: during the two years of emperor Jingzong's reign, he did not commit any tyranny. He was loyal to Peidu, Li Jiang and Wei chuhou. He was not as obscene as the others. He was killed by a rebellious eunuch. He was fond of traveling and flattering.
Anecdotes and allusions
Arrow shooting
Li Zhan, Emperor Jingzong of Tang Dynasty in Baoli period, specially made a kind of paper arrow, which was made of paper. The paper arrow was wrapped with musk or ambergris powder. When Li Zhan wanted to have fun in the palace, he called his concubines and asked them to stand at a certain distance. He used this kind of paper arrow to shoot them. If the concubines or maids were shot, they would have powder on their bodies, so they would send out a strong fragrance, but there would be no pain. At that time, this kind of paper arrow was called "romantic arrow" by the palace. All the concubines hoped that they could be hit by the paper arrow. Only when they were hit, could they get the favor of the monarch and have a bright future.
Dyer riot
At the beginning of Tang Jingzong's accession to the throne, Li Zhan met again in the Daming Palace, and his corpse was in a mess. It happened in April of the fourth year of Changqing (824). The main characters are not princes and ministers, nor eunuchs, but two common people, one is Zhang Shao, the serviceman of dyeing workshop, the other is Su xuanming, who is divining on the streets of Chang'an. Zhang Shao and Su xuanming are friends and have a good relationship. This time Su xuanming gave Zhang Shao a hexagram. He explained it like this: "brother Zhang, you are destined to have great fortune and high price. You can sit on the Royal couch of the palace and drink with me. Today's emperor is very busy playing polo in the daytime and hunting foxes in the evening. He is not in the palace most of the time. You and I can take advantage of this to make a great deal together. " This is the way things are settled. It's not about supporting someone. It's not about hitting anyone, it's just about experiencing royal life. The next thing is to look for help, targeting two types of people. One is the colleagues who work in the dyeing workshop with Zhang Shao, the other is the idle people on the streets of Chang'an. There is a large population in Chang'an city. Han Yu wrote in a poem: "there are a million families in Chang'an, and there is no place to go out." After going out, I don't know where to go, so I feel depressed. Millions of homes, though not enough, are roughly the same. In the city known as millions of people, all kinds of people gather. The fruit eaten by the skilful thief is the tribute of the palace, Dongting orange. There are also some old people with superb martial arts who live in a remote corner of the city
