Kong Congzhou
Kong Congzhou (1906.10.2-1991.06.07), male, Han nationality, founding General of the people's Republic of China, Mao Zedong's in laws, was born in Shangqiao Zikou village, Baqiao Town, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. During his military career, he served as platoon commander, company commander, battalion commander, and regiment commander of the Yasukuni army, brigade commander, division commander, and deputy commander of the National Revolutionary Army, commander of the northwest Democratic Alliance Army, deputy commander of the western Henan military region, and deputy commander of the special forces column of the second field army. He took part in the northern expedition, the Xi'an Incident, the Gongxian uprising, the liberation of Shanxian, Lingbao, Luhua, Shannan and the crossing of the Yangtze River.
Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, he has successively served as artillery commander and Ordnance Department Director of Southwest Military Region, President of senior artillery school, President of Artillery Engineering College, deputy artillery commander, etc., leaving indelible contributions to building a strong people's artillery. Early experience
Kong Congzhou was born on October 2, 1906 in Zikou village, Shangqiao Town, Baqiao Town, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. He received a good education since childhood. After graduating from primary school at the age of 15, he was admitted to Chang'an democracy middle school. Here, he read for a year, but he was out of school because of the decline of his family.
During the Great Revolution
In 1924 (the 13th year of the Republic of China), Kong Congzhou was admitted to the training team set up by Yang Hucheng Department of the Yasukuni army and became a soldier. Successive platoon commander, company commander, battalion commander and regimental commander participated in the northern expedition.
Period of Agrarian Revolution
In 1936 (the 25th year of the Republic of China), Kong Congzhou was appointed commander of the 2nd brigade of the 17th Route Army of the national revolutionary army. During the Xi'an Incident, the headquarters took part in the action to disarm the army, police, constitution and special forces of the Nanjing Kuomintang in Xi'an, which played an important role in the smooth implementation of the capture of Chiang Kai Shek by Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng.

Since 1938 (the 27th year of the Republic of China), Kong Congzhou has been the commander of the 4th group army, the commander and deputy commander of the 55th division of the 38th army.
During the war of Liberation
On May 15, 1946 (the 35th year of the Republic of China), Kong Congzhou led his troops to revolt in Gongxian County, Henan Province, and entered the Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan liberated area to join the Chinese people's Liberation Army. He joined the Communist Party of China in October of the same year.
In August 1947 (the 36th year of the Republic of China), Kong Congzhou led his troops with Chen (Geng) Xie (Fuzhi) group to the south of the Yellow River, opened up the Henan Shaanxi Hubei liberated area, and took part in the liberation of Shaanxi county, Lingbao, Luhua, southern Shaanxi and other battles.
In 1948, Kong Congzhou was appointed deputy commander of the western Henan military region.
In February 1949 (the 38th year of the Republic of China), Kong Congzhou served as the deputy commander of the special forces column of the second field army and participated in the cross river campaign.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Kong Congzhou served as artillery commander of the Southwest Military Region, President of the Second Artillery school, director of the Ordnance Department of the Southwest Military Region, President of the senior artillery school, and President of the Artillery Engineering College.
From June 1964 to August 1975, Kong Congzhou was appointed deputy commander of artillery of the Chinese people's Liberation Army.
Kong Congzhou is a member of the second and third National Defense Commission, a member of the fifth CPPCC Standing Committee, and a member of the Sixth NPC Standing Committee.
Kong Congzhou died in Beijing on June 7, 1991 at the age of 85.

Participating in the Xi'an Incident
At 4:00 a.m. on December 12, 1936, the Xi'an Incident broke out. Kong Congzhou commanded the police brigade to release all the military, political, constitutional, police and special personnel of the Nanjing Kuomintang in Xi'an, in addition to the armed forces of Chiang Kai Shek's troops stationed in Xi'an. He detained 56 military and political officials including Chiang Kai Shek, Chen Cheng, Zhu Shaoliang, Wei Lihuang, Jiang Dingwen, and their families, which was the second Kuomintang Communist alliance He made an important contribution to the formation of the national united front against Japan.

Bloody battle of Japanese Army
On August 15, 1938, Kong Congzhou led the second police brigade to fight with more than 3000 Japanese soldiers in NiuDao division of Yongji army for eight days and nights. At the cost of more than 400 soldiers, he annihilated more than 1000 Japanese soldiers and won a major victory in the Yongji campaign, defeating the Japanese plan to move westward.

On May 15, 1946, he led the 55th division of the 38th army of the Kuomintang to revolt in Gongxian County, Henan Province. After the failure of the uprising, he went to Dengfeng, Nanyang, Zhenping, Gongxian, Kaifeng, Jixian, Heze and other places successively. In August 1946, he returned to the arms of the people's Liberation Army and was cordially received and condoled by Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping and other leaders.

In 1955, Kong Congzhou was awarded the rank of lieutenant general and the first Liberation Medal.
In 1988, Kong Congzhou won the first-class Red Star Medal.
Relative members
Madam: Qian Jian, formerly known as Qian Fenglian, former director of artillery Administration Office of Southwest Military Region. Born in Nanyang, Henan Province in 1913, he married Kong Congzhou in 1929 and died of illness in 2010.
Eldest son: Kong Lingzhong, born in 1931. Deputy director of PLA 210 hospital, cardiology expert. He retired in 1992.
Second son: Kong Linghua, a cadre of the Commission of science, technology and industry for national defense. Born in 1935, he was admitted to Beijing Institute of Aeronautics in 1956. He married Li Min, Mao Zedong's eldest daughter, on August 29, 1959, and died in 1999.
Daughter: Kong Shujing, retired cadre of division level of General Administration Organization Department. Born in 1937, he joined the army in 1959.
Sun Tzu: Kong Jining, born in October 1962, graduated from Nanjing Institute of international relations of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. After graduation, he entered the general staff and was successively assigned to the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the British Embassy as assistant military officer. At present, he is the director of the Research Center for national spirit and China development, and the chairman of the Management Committee of the "Oriental Kunlun" public welfare fund of China Youth Foundation.
