Deeds
Participating in and leading the "12.9" movement
Comrade Gu Jingsheng was one of the main leaders of the 129th movement which had a great influence in the history of Chinese revolution.
After the North China Incident in 1935, the Japanese aggressors had occupied a large area of North China, and the national contradiction rapidly rose to be the main contradiction in Chinese society. Under such circumstances, the party's correct policy should be "to stop the civil war and resist Japan in unison", to organize the people by all means and to form a broad Anti Japanese national united front. However, at that time, the main person in charge of the Beiping Municipal Working Committee, an underground party organization in Beiping, still adhered to the policy of overthrowing the Kuomintang, opposed organizing the vast number of young students to fight for democracy and freedom against Japan from the Kuomintang government, and attacked Peng Tao, propaganda minister of the municipal Party committee, Gu Jingsheng, Secretary of the left wing cultural general League and the left wing League, and the Chinese national armed Self Defense Association, who insisted on correct opinions Responsible person Zhou Xiaozhou. After the "lawsuit" came to Hebei provincial Party committee, the provincial Party committee affirmed the latter's correct opinions and decided to immediately reorganize the Beiping municipal Party committee and establish the CPC Beiping provisional Committee, with Gu Jingsheng as the Secretary of the provisional municipal Party committee, Peng Tao as the organization minister and Zhou Xiaozhou as the propaganda minister. In order to strengthen leadership, the Hebei provincial Party committee later sent special commissioner Li Changqing. According to the development of the current situation, the new municipal Party committee, with Comrade Gu Jingsheng as its secretary, meticulously organized and led the Anti Japanese and national salvation petition on December 9 and the mass procession on December 16.
After taking part in the revolution, Comrade Gu Jingsheng worked in the white area. In 1933, he joined the Chahar Anti Japanese Alliance Army, served as a political commissar of the regiment, and was wounded in the battle. He has rich experience in underground struggle and military struggle. 129 before the campaign, he worked in Beiping's leadership of the left wing culture, founded the bubble society and the monthly magazine of bubbles, which greatly influenced the progressive students. All these made him play a very important leading role in the 129th movement. Mao Zedong once spoke highly of the 129th movement and compared it with the Great May 4th movement. However, due to the characteristics of underground struggle at that time, Gu Jingsheng, as the temporary secretary of the municipal Party committee, was in a very hidden situation, and his role was obliterated in people's memories and party history works. In this regard, Comrade Gu Jingsheng kept quiet for a long time and took it calmly, showing the lofty ideological realm of a communist.

However, due to the characteristics of the underground struggle at that time, Gu Jingsheng, as the temporary secretary of the municipal Party committee, was in a very hidden situation, and his role was later buried in people's memories and party history works. In this regard, Comrade Gu Jingsheng kept quiet for a long time and took it calmly, showing the lofty ideological realm of a Communist Party member. "
