He was engaged in the work of Zhonglang and Zhongling, commanding the Yulin army, and also in charge of internal and external political affairs. He was conferred the title of juping county and moved to Beijing. After the establishment of the Western Jin Dynasty, the generals of the Chinese army were moved to China, and the generals of the Chinese army were appointed the Marquis of juping. Life of the characters
Early experience
Yanghu was born in the family of famous scholars in Han and Wei dynasties. From him up to the ninth generation, there are people in every generation of Yang family who have served more than 2000 official positions, and they are known for their honesty and virtue. Yang Xu, the grandfather of Yang Hu, was the prefect of Nanyang in the late Han Dynasty. His father was the prefect of Shangdang in the period of Cao Wei. His mother, Cai, was the daughter of Cai Yong, a famous Confucian and general of Zuo Zhonglang in the Han Dynasty. His sister married Sima Shi, the son of Sima Yi.
Yang Hu lost his father at the age of 12, and his filial piety and mourning exceeded the common rites. Yang Tan is very respectful in serving his uncle. He once played on the edge of Wenshui and met an old man who said to him, "you are an extraordinary child. You are less than 60 years old. You will surely make great contributions to the world." Then the old man left, not knowing where he was.
When he grew up, he was erudite and good at writing. He is famous for his eloquence. And the instrument of natural and unrestrained, seven feet three inches long, beautiful men. Taishan County General Xia houwei thought he was different from ordinary people and married his elder brother Xia Houba's daughter to him. Yanghu was recommended as an official of Shangji. The state officials recruited him four times to be a scholar. The five prefectures also appointed him one after another, but Yanghu refused to take office. Guo Yi, a native of Taiyuan, said after seeing him: "this is really the contemporary Yan Hui."
begin to display one 's talent
In the third year of Jingchu (239), Wei Ming emperor Cao Rui died. Cao Fang, the successor of Qi, was only eight years old. General Cao Shuang and Taiwei Sima Yi were appointed to assist the administration, and the struggle between the two groups became increasingly fierce. In the early years of Zhengshi period, caoshuang group had obvious advantages in the struggle. Cao Shuang pushed Sima Yi out of the position of Taifu and controlled the real power of the government by holding the power of commanding the forbidden army and the Privy Council in the hands of his brothers and confidants. Sima Yi tried to keep a secret and pretended to be ill, but secretly stepped up the arrangement and waited for an opportunity to counter attack. Although he was young, he was very political minded. Cao Zhongshuang is not his opponent. After that, Yang Hu and Wang Shen were conquered by Cao Shuang. Wang Shen advised Yang Hu to take office. Yang Hu said, "it's not easy to give up your life to serve others." Wang Shen answered the call alone. Because of the family status, Yanghu basically drifted away from the struggle between the two groups.
In 249, Sima Yi launched the change of Gaoping mausoleum, killed Cao Shuang and won the military and political power. After the coup, Sima Yi cut off Cao Shuang group on a large scale, and many people related to Cao Shuang were implicated. In order to escape the killing, the father-in-law Xia Houba of Yanghu surrendered to Shuhan. Wang Shen was also dismissed because he was Cao Shuang's official, so he said to Yanghu, "I always remember what you said before." But Yang Hu comforted him and said, "I didn't expect Cao Shuang to end up like this at that time." That's how he is. He has foresight and refuses to boast. In this disaster, Yang Hu was not punished for his father-in-law's coming to Shu because of his affinity with Sima.
When Xia Houba surrendered to Shu, most of his relatives were afraid of being implicated, so they broke off their relationship with his family. Only Yang Hu comforted his family, sympathized with his family, and became close to them. Before long, Yang Hu's mother and elder brother Yang FA died one after another. Yanghu mourned for more than ten years, during which he regarded himself as a simple Taoist, just like a Confucian.
rapidly go up in the world
In 255, Sima Shi died of illness. Sima Zhao was in power and became a general. Sima Zhao was appointed as a general and conquered Yanghu, but Yanghu did not answer his orders. Therefore, the imperial court took Yanghu as zhongshulang by bus, and soon became zhishizhong and huangmenlang. At that time, Cao Mao, the noble Duke of Wei Dynasty, was fond of literature, and the incumbents hoped to inherit Shangyi and offer more poems and Fu. In the imperial court, although he was a scholar bureaucrat, he was upright and never divorced from his relatives. Therefore, he was highly respected by people of insight.
Cao Huan, emperor of the Wei and Yuan Dynasties, ascended the throne, and Yang Hu was granted the title of Marquis of Guannei. Because emperor yuan of Wei was young, Yang Hu didn't want to be a courtier in the court, so he asked to be transferred to the court for other posts. As a result, he was changed to Secretary Supervisor.
After the implementation of the fifth rank title in the Wei Dynasty, Yanghu was granted the title of jupingzi, who lived in 600 households. Zhong will be favored by Sima Zhao and envious of his talents. Yang Hu is also afraid of him. After Zhong Hui was killed, Yang Hu was appointed as the prime minister to work as Zhonglang, and held the secret with Xun Xu, Sima Yan's other confidant. On the eve of the Jin Dynasty and Wei Dynasty, Sima Yan appointed Yanghu as the leader of the central army, who was on duty in the Imperial Palace, commanding the Imperial Army and taking charge of internal and external political affairs.
Many meritorious deeds
In December of the second year of Xianxi reign (January 266), Sima Yan was called emperor by Zen and established the Western Jin Dynasty, which was known as Emperor Wu in history. Because Yanghu had the merit of supporting the army, he was called the general of the Chinese army, and he was also a regular servant on horseback. He was called the Duke of the county and had 3000 households in the city. For fear of arousing the jealousy of Jia Chong and other powerful officials, Yang Hu insisted that he be granted the title of Duke, but only the marquis. Therefore, he was granted the title of marquis by jupingzi, the marquis. He set up a doctor's order, set up nine official positions, and granted his wife yinshou.
In the early years of Taishi, Sima Yan issued an imperial edict: "it is the fundamental task of the court to lead the state organs and coordinate the work of the ritual, education, criminal, political and other departments. Yang Hu is a man of pure virtue, loyalty and honesty, pure and talented. He is both civil and military. He is upright. Although he holds an important position in the court, he is not in charge of the state. This is not in line with the principle that a sage must appoint a wise man to rule the world by doing nothing. Now he is a minister, a right servant, a general, and an army of his own. " At that time, Wang you, Jia Chong and Pei Xiu were all high-ranking officials of the former dynasty, and Yang Hu was modest to them.
After Sima Yan became emperor, he always wanted to swallow Wu. They actively planned the war to eliminate the Sun Wu regime in order to realize the great cause of unifying the whole country.
In 269, Sima Yan appointed general Wei Yu and Sima Yu to divide the towns of Linzi and xiapi, and strengthened the military arrangement of Sun Wu. Besides, he specially transferred Yang Hu to be the commander of Jingzhou's armies. During the holiday, he kept his former official position as a regular official and general Wei. At that time, there was a Jingzhou in the Western Jin Dynasty and a confrontation between the South and the north. Jingzhou in the Western Jin Dynasty included a small part of Shaanxi and Henan and Northern Hubei. Jingzhou of Wu state has most of Hubei and Hunan. Jingzhou was the longest border between Jin and Wu, so it was the key area in the war against Wu.
After Yang Hu took office, he found that the situation in Jingzhou was not stable. Not only is the life of the common people not stable enough, but also the food of the garrison troops is not enough. Therefore, Yanghu first put his energy on the development of Jingzhou. Yanghu set up a large number of schools, set up education, appeased the people and cherished distant people. He was honest with the people of Wu, and those who surrendered could decide whether to stay or not. The demolition of old government offices is also prohibited.
At that time, the custom was that if an official died in an official office, his successor would say that his place of residence was not good, and often demolished the old mansion and built it separately. Yang Hu believed that life and death, not in the room, command subordinates, are prohibited. The most important thing is that the design made the state of Wu withdraw the Shicheng garrison, which is the biggest threat to Xiangyang. The Shicheng garrison of the state of Wu is more than 700 miles away from Xiangyang and often invades the border. Yang Hu deeply thought that there was a danger, so he skillfully used a stratagem to make Wu withdraw his Garrison. Then he divided the army into two parts, one carrying out the military task of patrolling and guarding, the other reclaiming land. At that time, the whole army reclaimed more than 800 hectares of farmland. When Yanghu first came, the army did not have enough grain for 100 days. Later, the grain savings could be used for 10 years. These measures quickly stabilized the social order of Jingzhou and enhanced the combat effectiveness of the army. In recognition of his achievements, Sima Yan ordered the abolition of the establishment of all the captains in Jiangbei and conferred the post of general Yanghu nanzhonglang, who was responsible for commanding all the troops in Jiangxia area of Eastern Han Dynasty.
In the army, Yang Hu often wore light and warm fur, wide and gentle belts and no armor. Under the Bell Pavilion, there were no more than a dozen soldiers. Moreover, they like hunting and fishing, so they often neglect their official duties. One night, he came up with the idea of setting up a camp. Ma xuyin, the commander of the army, held a firewood halberd in his hand to block the camp gate and said, "the general is in charge of a territory of ten thousand li. How can he be so indulgent? The safety of the general is also the safety of the country. Unless I'm dead, the door won't open tonight. " Yang Hu changed his face, apologized and never went out.
Before long, Yanghu was granted the title of general of chariot and cavalry, and was given special treatment by Kaifu such as the instrument of the third division. Yang Hu said: "I respectfully saw that the imperial edict of Jiaen had come down and promoted me to be the same as Sangong. Since I became an official, I had only ten years to accept important internal and external responsibilities. My official position was prominent and important. I often felt uneasy day and night because I could not make progress in my own intelligence and could not stay in the favor of others for a long time, and my glory turned into sorrow. I have heard from the ancients that a talented minister will not be able to make progress until his moral character is respected by the people, and that a person who is willing to contribute to his country will not be able to make progress until he enjoys a high salary because of his achievements
