The Dutch Minister in Japan Gao luopei is the author of the collection of Buddhist monk Donggao.
Life
At the age of eight, they became monks at Baoen temple in Suzhou. At the age of 13, they traveled to Jiangsu and Zhejiang to seek their teachers and then went to Yongfu temple in Hangzhou. In the 15th year of Kangxi (1676 AD), Donggao arrived at Kyushu via Putuo and settled in Xingfu temple in Nagasaki. Later, at the invitation of Shuihu's vassal King Tokugawa Guangguo, he presided over the new shouchangshan Zhiyuan temple and became the founder of shouchang sect of caodong sect. Donggao preached and taught arts at the same time, and those who asked for advice came one after another. He taught Shuangqin, described his poems, pointed out Danqing, and taught Zhuan and Yinfa. He also learned Japanese, Shifu and song. His poems are full of nostalgia for the motherland, homesickness and nostalgia, such as "in the past, it was very difficult to cross the sea eastward. More feeling Huangmen Jiaqian, Zufeng to be broadcast Daizong ". His calligraphy is especially long and has opened up a new realm for Japanese calligraphy. His seal cutting, either cool and elegant, or vigorous and powerful, or profound and elegant, is regarded as the father of Japanese seal cutting. His painting skill is good at interpreting Taoist figures, and he also works with Mei Lan, Zhu Ju. In his Nirvana garden, an tanbo of Japan said: "I'm afraid that's not the case with Wu Daozi and Zhang Seng." Donggao's most important achievement in Japan was to teach Qin Dao. When he came to Japan, he carried three pieces of seven stringed guqin, one of which is Yushun in Tokyo Museum. "The history of Japanese Qin" says: "Qin learning flourished in Japan, and master Bao (Donggao) made great contribution." Donggao Xinyue passed away on September 30, the 23rd year of Kangxi reign (1694 A.D.), and the relics were buried in Qingshui temple and Damo Temple respectively. The inscription says: "shouchang Kaishan, the greater the heart is, the monk's Tower". Every time he dies, the monks dream of offering incense, which has never declined.
