Li Shishi
Li Shishi, born on March 2, 1983 in South Korea, is a professional go player.
Korean famous go player, the world's top go player, married his girlfriend Jin Xianzhen on March 12, 2006, and her daughter Li Huilin was born on September 3 of the same year.
In 1995, it entered the first stage, in 1998, it entered the second stage, and in 1999, it entered the third stage. In 2003, it was directly promoted to the sixth stage because it won the LG cup. In April 2003, it won the second place in the KT cup of South Korea's largest chess game, which was promoted to the seventh stage. In July 2003, it was directly promoted to the ninth stage after it won the 16th Fujitsu cup. 2006, 2007, 2008 Korean go Awards - the best player award (MVP). Characteristics of chess style -- Li Shishi is a typical style of fighting hard. He is good at seizing the weakness of his opponents and taking the initiative to attack them with great strength. His attack can be described as "stable, accurate and ruthless", and can often be reversed under the disadvantage.
From March 9, 2016, Li Shishi and Google computer Go program "alpha go" have a go man-machine war. As of March 15, Li Shishi was defeated by Ai "alpha go" with a total score of 1-4. On January 10, 2017, the final of the 5th "Dongjun pharmaceutical Cup" world go competition for celebrities in Baoshan City, China, ended in Yongzi Chess Academy, Baoshan City. Li Shishi won the championship by winning nine sections of Chinese celebrities' Lianxiao in the middle.
On November 19, 2019, Li Shishi submitted his resignation to the Korean Chess Academy and officially announced his retirement.
Early experience
Because most Korean people use Chinese characters to take their names, Li Shishi's Chinese name registered on his ID card is "Li Shiyu". However, after it was introduced into China, it was mistakenly written as "Li Shishi" because of transliteration. In fact, "Shi" and "Shi" are two completely different Chinese characters. "Yi" is not a traditional or variant character of "Shi", but a Korean character. It is pronounced in Korean and sh í in Chinese. It is often used in person or place names in South Korea. In the history of South Korea, there are also names such as Shen Jueshi (leader of the Korean Yibing movement in modern times), Yu Changling and so on, which fully show that "Yu" and "Shi" are two completely different words.
Li Shishi was born on March 2, 1983. He studied under Quan Jialong and joined Duan in 1995. Li Shishi showed a rebellious character when he was very young. When he was 11 years old, Quan Jialong Taoist center fought with another Taoist center. According to the level, Li Shishi could be the main general, but because he was young, Quan Jialong ranked him in the fourth stage. I didn't expect that this greatly hurt little Li Shishi's self-esteem and played "missing" on the day of the competition. Later, Quan Jialong found Li Shishi's father and forced him to return to the Taoist temple and write a letter of repentance. Li Shishi still thought that he was protesting against the teacher's "partiality", and he did it right.
Sports career
Refuse to participate in the segment
In the past, the rank system of China and South Korea both followed the practice of Japanese chess circles, and players had to take part in special rank competitions. But at that time, Li Shishi, who had only three segments, felt that the Duan contest was meaningless, so he publicly threatened that three segments were enough for him, and he would never participate in the Korean Duan contest again. At that time, Li Shishi was already very strong and had several domestic titles. How can the authority of this level be maintained if the three level players always beat the nine level players. Therefore, the Korean Chess Academy has formulated a new regulation that the runner up of domestic competitions can be promoted to one stage, the champion can be promoted to two stages, and the world champion can be promoted to three stages. As a result, shortly after the new rules for promotion came out, Li Shishi won two world championships and rose from three to nine in three months. An official of the South Korean Chess Academy said: "hurry up and get Li Shishi to Jiuduan, so that he won't make trouble in the Duan competition."
Li Shishi's rise also had a lot of influence on the Chinese and Japanese chess circles. Both Japanese and Chinese chess academies have issued relevant regulations that the champion can be promoted in the world competition. A senior Chinese chess player said frankly: "if there were no players like Li Shishi to make a scene, let alone the introduction of the new rules on the promotion of the national level, I'm afraid no one would even think of it."
Refuse to participate in the selection
In 2003, after learning of the decision of Nongxin company to make Li Changhao a free chess player in the Nongxin cup, Li Shishi announced that he would not participate in the Nongxin cup. He said: "I didn't abstain because I didn't become an ex gratia chess player, but I resented the one-man ex gratia system for Li Changhao. It is fair that all the five places are selected equally. It is said that the establishment of preferential quota is to form the strongest delegation, but even if Li Changhao's Jiuduan was not elected, the elected delegation would be very strong. Besides, even if it's not the strongest delegation, so what? "
However, Li Shishi's abandonment of the cup is limited to this session. Since 2004, the organizer of the cup still gave Li Changhao the right to vote, but Li Shishi still took part in the competition.
I want to give up in the final
On October 8, 2002, Li Shishi, who was a three-stage player, abstained from the most powerful go game in Korea's Kat cup (go League), which made it impossible for the match to be broadcast on TV. Moreover, after waiting for 15 minutes, his brother Li Xiangxun called to say that Li Shishi was not able to compete because of his discomfort.
On May 15, 2008, Li Shishi again abstained from the competition. On this day, he was going to China to take part in the competition between Guizhou bailing team and Shanghai mobile communication team. Due to schedule conflict, he simply gave up the match between Hong Xingzhi and South Korea price intelligence cup. Although he later reached the final of the game, the Korean media still listed the abstention as one of the top ten events in the chess world.
Li Shishi's attempt to abstain took place in the first game of the 13th LG Cup final. On March 22, 2009, Guli Jiuduan rushed to the competition site in Jiangyuan Road, South Korea, but Li Shishi was late. Because of dissatisfaction with the schedule and venue, Li Shishi was late. Later, under the "coercion" of his brother, he took a taxi to the stadium overnight. It was two o'clock in the morning when he arrived. This episode has also become the best excuse for Li Shishi's poor state in this competition and his final defeat by gulee.
On January 10, 2018, in the final of the fifth world go celebrity competition, Li Shishi defeated Chinese celebrity Lian Xiao and won the championship, winning a grand prize of 500000 yuan.
On April 7, 2018, Li Shishi lost to Ke Jie and won the runner up and 100000 yuan in the 2018 Huayang International go competition.
On April 2, 2018, in the second jtbc cup, Li Shishi beat Xu Yinghao in the black midcourt to win the 50th championship in his personal career.
In March 2019, Li Shishi lost to Chinese chess player Ke Jiejiu in South Korea.

On November 19, 2019, Li Shishi submitted his resignation to the Korean Chess Academy and officially announced his retirement.
