Wang Xuehao

Wang Xuehao, male, Han nationality, was born on January 291942 in Jianhu, Jiangsu Province. At present, he is director of liver transplantation center of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital (the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University), director of Key Laboratory of living donor liver transplantation of Ministry of health and director of Academic Committee. He is the vice chairman of Liver Cancer Committee of China Anti Cancer Association, vice president of Jiangsu Medical Association, and director of liver disease surgery clinical medical center of Jiangsu "science and education project".

On February 19, 2020, he was selected into the first group of members of the National Health Science Popularization expert database.

He graduated from Nanjing Medical University with a bachelor's degree in 1965 and a master's degree in medicine in 1982. From 1983 to 1985, he was director of the Key Laboratory of somatic liver transplantation and director of the academic committee of Starzl Institute of University of Pittsburgh, director of liver surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, director of Jiangsu liver surgery clinical medical center, member of the human organ transplantation expert group of the Ministry of health, China He is the leader of transplantation immunology group of micro immunity branch of Medical Association and vice president of Jiangsu Medical Association. For more than 40 years, he has been working in the clinical front line and treated tens of thousands of patients. He has published 336 academic papers, more than 50 SCI papers, and won one second prize of national science and technology progress award, one first prize of Jiangsu Science and technology progress award, and six second prizes of ministry and provincial level. He has successively served as deputy editor in chief and editorial board member of more than 20 domestic and foreign academic journals, and has been rated as "Excellent Communist Party member of Jiangsu Province". Professor Wang Xuehao first launched the Chinese mainland living donor liver transplantation in 1995. He is one of the earliest international living donor liver transplant recipients and a pioneer of living donor liver transplantation in Chinese mainland. He pioneered the establishment of a standardized technology system for living donor liver transplantation in Chinese mainland, completed many pioneering work in the field of living donor liver transplantation, and promoted the technology of living donor liver transplantation to more than 20 provinces and municipalities nationwide, which played a leading role in the development of living donor liver transplantation in China. Professor Wang Xuehao also solved many difficult problems in the field of liver surgery, and created the early localization and qualitative diagnosis of liver cancer in China, which laid the foundation for interventional treatment of liver cancer. This technology is still the main means of comprehensive treatment of liver cancer.

Main achievements

He has successively won the honorary titles of national advanced health system worker, Bethune type health worker in Jiangsu Province, model worker in Jiangsu Province, outstanding model member of the Communist Party of Jiangsu Province, meritorious man of science and technology in Nanjing City, national advanced worker in 2015 and Chinese medical scientist in 2017.

On November 3, 2011, he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering. Wang Xuehao was selected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, which means that he became the first academician of medical and health in Jiangsu Province.
