Bauerhan shahidi (1894-1989), founder and first leader of China Islamic Association, famous scholar and social activist. Uygur ethnic group. His ancestral home is Aksu, Xinjiang. He was born in tetieshi County, Kazan Province, Russia. Since childhood, he has studied Russian and Arabic, Islamic knowledge and the Koran. He returned to Xinjiang in 1912. In 1929, he studied at the University of Berlin in Germany, studying political economics. In 1935, he joined the Xinjiang people's anti imperialist Federation. From 1938 to 1944, he was imprisoned by Xinjiang warlord Sheng Shicai for nearly seven years. From 1945 to 1949, he successively served as deputy director of the Department of civil affairs of Xinjiang Province, Commissioner of Dihua (now Urumqi City), vice chairman of Xinjiang Provincial Government, member of the national government and chairman of Xinjiang Provincial Government. In September 1949, together with General Tao Zhiyue, he electrified and peacefully revolted. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he was the president of the people's Government of Xinjiang Province, the president of Xinjiang University. Since 1953, he has successively served as vice chairman of the second, third, fifth and sixth national committees of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region CPPCC, chairman and honorary president of the China Islamic Association, vice chairman of the Nationalities Committee of the first and second National People's Congress, and President of the China Indonesia Friendship Association, President of the China Arab League Friendship Association, and Chinese people's defense of the world Vice chairman of the world peace committee, vice chairman of the China Asian African Unity Committee, vice chairman of the China African people's Friendship Association, and vice chairman of the China Asian African society. He has visited several countries in Asia, Africa and Europe, and led Chinese Muslim pilgrimage groups to Mecca. Participating in International Peace Conferences for many times has made important contributions to enhancing the friendship between the Chinese people and the people of other countries, especially the people of Arab and Islamic countries, and to safeguarding world peace. He was a member of the Department of philosophy and social sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the Institute of ethnic languages, director of the Institute of ethnic studies, President of the Xinjiang branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of Xinjiang University, and vice president of the Chinese society of political science and law. He is proficient in Uyghur, Chinese, Russian, German, Turkish and other languages, attaches great importance to ethnic cultural education and language research, and is committed to the research and development of Chinese Turkism. His main works include the dictionary of Uygur, Chinese and Russian, the 50th year of Xinjiang, the historical paper on the regime of akuba, the re discussion on the regime of akuba, and the script the roar of Flame Mountain. Bauerhan shahidi has devoted all his life to safeguarding the reunification of the motherland and national unity, and promoting the unity of the Chinese people with the people of other countries and Muslim brothers.
