Xu Xun
Xu Xun (1901-1936) was born in Sanmiao Township, Qianshan County, Anhui Province.
Life of the characters
Xu Xun once studied in Hubei University. He returned to Qianshan in 1926 to engage in revolutionary activities. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1927 and served as the principal of Qianshan middle school the next spring. He actively engaged in the peasant movement and developed the party's organization. In the spring of 1930, the Kuomintang's Qianshan County Government conspired to arrest Xu Xun. When the party organization heard the news, it informed him to leave. Later, he went to Lingtou area and, together with other comrades, secretly organized the armed forces of peasants to stand by for riots. In May of the same year, farmers in Lingtou area held an uprising, held a meeting of 1000 people in Lingtou street, announced the establishment of the District farmers' Association and the establishment of the red guards. Later, because the Kuomintang county government sent troops to encircle and suppress, the red guards retreated to Bai'an village and formed an independent guerrilla brigade under the second independent division of the Red Army. Xu Xun served as political commissar of the independent guerrilla brigade and succeeded as vice minister and director of the Political Department of the division. In the revolutionary struggle, Xu Xun worked hard and became ill. Later, he hid at home for three years due to illness. In 1933, he was transferred to a relative's home in Zhejiang Province. In September 1936, he died of hematemesis in Zhejiang Province.
