Dongyuan
Dongyuan old city is donggucheng village, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. As an administrative division, it was Dongyuan city before the Qin Dynasty, and Dongyuan County after the unification of China. According to Zizhitongjian, in the winter of the 11th year of emperor Gao (196 BC), Liu Bang led his army to eliminate Chen Chen's rebellion. "Zhao Li (General Chen Chen) defended Dongyuan, and the emperor attacked and pulled it out, and changed its name to Zhending." Since then, the administrative division has changed several times, but the real name has been retained. In 1723, Zhending Prefecture was changed into Zhengding Prefecture, which governed one Prefecture and thirteen counties. In 1913, Zhengding Prefecture was abolished and Zhengding County was retained. See the data of Zhengding County for details.
Introduction to the ancient city
Dongyuan ancient city is one of the earliest cities in the Hutuo River Basin and the predecessor of Zhengding ancient city.
As the source of the central city in the Hutuo River Basin and the historical and cultural city of Zhengding, Dongyuan, as a city, has a history of nearly 2500 years, dating back to the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, cities were connected with wars. In the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, the Hutuo River Basin had abundant geographical and natural conditions, which became an important place for various ethnic groups and vassals. In the struggle between you and me, and after you sing, a new vassal state, Zhongshan state, sprang up. In the Lingshou period of Zhongshan state (which began in 381 BC), the military strength of Zhongshan state was further strengthened, and there were more disputes with neighboring countries, especially with Zhao state and Yan state. As a result, the cities that played an important role in defense emerged as the times require. In the middle and lower reaches of Hutuo River, Zhongshan state built Lingshou, Fangfang (now Gaoyi County Gucheng Village), Jipu (now Zhaoxian South) and other important cities.
Dongyuan city was built by Zhongshan state in this period. It is close to the South Bank of Hutuo River, the east foot of Taihang River in the west, and the Hutuo River in the East. It has become a strategic city in this region as soon as it was born. It played an important role in the struggle of the southern border between Zhongshan state and Zhao state.
Dongyuan City, as the central city of Hutuo River Basin, experienced the period of county and national government. Its starting point is from Qin Dynasty. In 228 BC, the Qin Dynasty destroyed the state of Zhao and established Hengshan County in the original area of Zhao. Its territory is south of Hengshan (now Shenxian mountain in the northeast of Fuping County), north of Fuyi (now guchengdian in Baixiang County), east of Shangai county (now Pingding County in Shanxi Province) and west of Julu County. It has more than ten counties. Dongyuan is the seat of Hengshan County. Thus, Dongyuan became the central city of Hutuo River Basin.
In the late Qin Dynasty, Dongyuan, as a county and city of Hengshan, further improved its political and military status and became an important strategic place for various factions. In the first year of Qin II (209bc), Chen Sheng took control of the former place of Zhao state by his military ministers and made himself king. He sent General Li Liang to capture Hengshan County and control Dongyuan city. Based on this, he sent troops to attack Taiyuan in the West. In September of the next year, the Qin generals Wang Jian and Zhang Han led the army to besiege Zhao Wang and Zhang Er, and Zhao generals Chen Yu confronted the Qin army according to Dongyuan.
In 206 BC, the Qin Dynasty perished. Xiang Yu was granted the title of marquis and Zhang Er was granted the title of king of Hengshan. Dongyuan city was the capital city, and it still retained its status as the political center of the city.
At the beginning of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Bang restored the establishment of Changshan County in the yuan family in 204 BC, and moved the county government from Dongyuan to the yuan family, and Dongyuan was reduced to the county government. In the 11th year of emperor Gaodi of Han Dynasty (196 BC), Liu Bang ordered Dongyuan to be renamed Zhending, which means "real stability".
In 113 B.C., during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Zhending was upgraded to a vassal state, with jurisdiction over Zhending, Feilei, mianman and Gaocheng counties. Until the early Eastern Han Dynasty, the state was abolished and became a county under the jurisdiction of Changshan County (the ancient city of yuan family). During the Wei period of the Three Kingdoms, the county government of Changshan moved from yuan to Zhending, and Zhending returned to its status as a central city. During the two Jin Dynasties, the city walls expanded, and the scale of the city walls reached its peak, becoming a famous city within hundreds of miles.
In 398 ad, Emperor Daowu of the Northern Wei Dynasty moved Changshan County to anlerei (now Zhengding). The Northern Qi Dynasty once moved back to Zhending. Yan Zhitui, a famous litterateur, lived in Changshan County when he was on a tour of Shanxi with Qi Zhu. He left many records about the local economy and customs. In the Sui Dynasty, Zhending county also moved to anlerlei, and Dongyuan (Zhending), a city with a history of 1000 years, was gradually destroyed.
The vicissitudes of history have left many feelings to the world. Rong Pihua, a Zhengding native and Gongsheng in the Qing Dynasty, once wrote a poem "reminiscence of Dongyuan city". From it, we can see that the former city wall is full of crops and ravines today. For this reason, we can express our boundless feelings
Even if I passed Dongyuan, I felt more and more, and I left the valley full of corn.
Water choking, you know, want to say to pedestrians waste Xing.
Time and space change, time goes by. The surging Hutuo River takes away thousands of years of time, and also brings the majestic appearance of Dongyuan (Zhending) ancient city into the dust of history.
Has Hutuo River emptied the historical imprint of the ancient city? Is it the only way to look at the magnificent ancient city?
History will not disappear. History is deeply buried in the ground, but also hidden in the classics. Reviewing the vast historical books and records, following the historical track and recalling the thousand years of vicissitudes of the old city, we can still appreciate the historical glory of Dongyuan (Zhending) and the legendary color of the old city.
As a strategic important city, it once played the grand drama of the battle of the golden age and iron horse against Hutuo, and set foot on both sides of the ancient Hutuo River. In particular, because of Dongyuan's strategic position, it became a king. During the Fengyun meeting, it experienced many events that changed the regional historical pattern and affected the process of Chinese history, leaving a historical legend of a city. Here, in the long-term battle between Zhao and Zhongshan, King Wuling of Zhao captured Dongyuan, built a goddess tower in Dongyuan, and ordered the officials to write poems and lyrics to remember it, leaving a legend and suspense for thousands of years. Here, Liu Bang, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, personally fought against the rebellion, conquered the city for more than a month, ended the rebellion, and achieved a great cause of martial arts and cultural administration. He ordered Dongyuan to be renamed Zhenyuan Ding, rewriting the history of Dongyuan, also left a sad fate; here, Taowu emperor of the Northern Wei Dynasty fought with the later Yan army, according to Zhending (Dongyuan), settled the Central Plains and unified the north; here, Liu Xiu "went to the country", established the foundation of the Eastern Han Dynasty by political marriage with Zhending King Liu Yang, and also wrote the sad and happy life of a Zhending woman.
As a hot spot, it is not only a historical stage for heroes to start their own businesses, but also a cradle for nurturing heroes. This is the hometown of Zhao Tuo, king of Nanyue in the Qin and Han Dynasties, and Zhao Yun, a famous general in the Three Kingdoms. Their cultural and martial arts skills, broad-minded feelings, and personality charm have become the cultural symbols of this ancient city, which are permanently engraved on this hot land and active on the stage of history.

A brief history of the ancient city
1、
In about 381 BC, Duke Huan of Zhongshan, controlled by the state of Wei, regained his power and gradually expanded its territory to "five hundred Li". The northern boundary is on the west line of Baoding city and Mancheng City, the southern boundary is on the west line of Jixian County and Gaoyi County, the western boundary is Taihang Mountain, and the eastern boundary is on the line of Baoding city and Jixian County. It became the "Qiancheng country" second only to the seven heroes of the Warring States period. During this period, Zhongshan state set up a number of cities in the territory. According to the supplementary interpretation of Xianyu Zhongshan state affairs table territory Map, there are 36 cities in Zhongshan, including dongyuanyi (the East ancient city of Shijiazhuang). Dongyuan became the strategic capital of Zhongshan state because it was located in Hutuo Henan, guarded the export of Taihang, held the title of Yanzhao and controlled the Central Plains.

After the reform of "Hufu riding and shooting", Zhao Wuling's national strength increased greatly and began to plan the war against Zhongshan. In the first month of 307 B.C., King Wuling of Zhao, after five days of court discussion, took advantage of the wrong death of King Zhongshan and the early establishment of the new king of Zhongshan to attack Zhongshan and fight in the house (now the west of Gaoyi County). At the same time, Yan also sent troops to attack Zhongshan. Zhongshan defeated the attack of Yan and Zhao. In 305 BC, the state of Zhao sent troops again to attack Zhongshan from the South and the north. King Wuling of Zhao led his army to capture Wei, Fenglong (now North of Yuanshi County), Shiyi (now south of Luquan City) and Dongyuan (now East ancient city of Shijiazhuang City) from the south. Zhao Wuling Wang dreamed of the goddess at night in Dongyuan, so he built the goddess building and ordered the officials to write poems to record it.
As time goes by, the old city of Dongyuan is buried in the sand brought by the Hutuo River, so it is impossible to verify the location of the goddess building. However, in the local chronicles of the past dynasties, there are poems written by literati chanting the goddess building. For example, Wang Shizhen, a famous poet and Minister of justice of the Ministry of punishment in the early Qing Dynasty, wrote the poem "goddess building", which said: "the goddess building is empty, the wild geese are isolated, and the Zhaomei pool is dry and half cold. All the guests in Handan can give Fu, who is like the doctor of Chaoyun Chu. " There is also "goddess building" written by Lao Xuncheng, a famous scholar in the Qing Dynasty: "it's so ethereal that it's hard to find an ancient painting building. The Zhaomei pool is half dry in autumn. Han Gao cold Peijiang imperial concubine far, Wu Gorge cloud deep Chu guest sorrow. The dream has gone with the fairyland, and the sound of Qin is still accompanied by the sound of water. Wu Wa's father has endless hatred, but the wind of the day is endless. "

In 228 BC, the Qin Dynasty destroyed the state of Zhao, promoted the county system in Zhao, and established Hengshan County, which is equivalent to the present Shijiazhuang city and the western part of Baoding, and reaches Hengshan (now Shenxian mountain of Fuping County) in the north. Dongyuan was the seat of Hengshan County, which opened the prelude of Dongyuan as the central city of Hutuo River Basin and the historical source of Shijiazhuang.
