Life of the characters
Zhang yaruo once studied in Nanchang women's middle school and was known as a talented woman in middle school. In 1926, he married Tang Yinggang, then 18 years old, and had two sons, Yuanbo and Yuanhui. Later, due to Tang Yinggang's unfortunate death, he fled to Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province. At that time, Jiang Jingguo was appointed Commissioner of Ganzhou administrative office, and Zhang entered the office. In 1939, he served as a secretary of Jiang Jingguo. He was in love with Jiang Jingguo and became pregnant in 1941. Later, to avoid rumors, he lived in seclusion in Guilin, Guangxi. On January 15, 1942, twins were born in the provincial Guilin hospital. Their baby names were big Mao and small Mao. Later, they were named Xiaoyan and Xiaoci by Chiang Kai Shek. At that time, the two sons took their mother's surname, which was decided by Uncle Zhang haoruo. In 1949, Jiang Xiaoyan and Jiang Xiaoci arranged to go to Taiwan in Chiang Ching Kuo.
When Zhang yaruo first met Chiang Ching Kuo, he gave him the impression that he was simple and elegant, just like a girl student. Because after Zhang yaruo went to work in the office, Xu Junhu told her that Jiang Jingguo advocated simplicity. After meeting Chiang Ching Kuo, he left the impression of a pure and elegant girl student as "clear water comes out of hibiscus and naturally goes to carve.". Zhang yaruo worked in the reference room of the office for a short time. Because of his excellent work, he was transferred to the Anti Japanese Mobilization Committee of the office by Jiang Jingguo. During his clerical work, Zhang further showed his talent, which made Jiang Jingguo look at him with new eyes.
Zhang yaruo died on August 16, 1942. Some people suspect that Dai Li ordered his men to commit the murder. Now living in Taiwan, Jiang Xiaoyan once served as the "vice president of the Executive Yuan" of Taiwan and a member of the Central Standing Committee of the Kuomintang. On November 22, 2008, he was promoted to vice chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang and wrote "the children outside Jiang's house". Jiang Xiaoci died in 1996.
When she was four or five years old, she studied poetry and calligraphy at home. She was extremely intelligent. Since the age of six, she followed her father Zhang Gongtao, a 16-year-old scholar from Wucheng Town, Yongxiu County, Jiujiang City, who graduated from Beijing University of political science and law and was the county magistrate of Suichuan County, Jiangxi Province. She not only excelled in all courses, but also ran wall newspapers, illustrated books, sang, danced and played games. She was 12 years old When he was three years old, when he came home from school, he could also take charge of daily household chores and expenses for his mother Zhou Jinhua (daughter of Zhou Liangsheng, a wealthy businessman in Wucheng, Jiujiang). He was good at cooking, cutting and returning to his hometown in Wucheng, Jiujiang during winter and summer vacation. His talent and ability were outstanding among the children of relatives and neighbors, bringing a lot of joy and praise to his grandfather Zhang Baichang and his grandfather Zhou Liangsheng.
When Zhang Maoli was a graceful girl, according to the custom of Wucheng, he was able to go out to the court to have children. So the big families in Wucheng, the relatives of Zhang family and Zhou family, entrusted matchmakers to Zhang Gongtao's lawyer's home in Youying street of Nanchang to propose marriage. Although Maoli was determined to continue studying and never marry immediately, he still could not get rid of the stubborn feudal customs and influence, so Maoli had to go He went into the bridal chamber with his cousin Tang Yinggang. It is a tragedy of the times that a talented woman who has great hope in her studies has been cut off by the old feudal customs.
Personal life
In the 1930s, the tide of the Chinese nation's Anti Japanese and national salvation surged to Nanchang, and naturally spread to the home of Tang Yinggang, a prison employee in Jiangxi Province. In this feudal family, the dreary atmosphere of years of husband and son education made Zhang Maoli extremely depressed. Her desire to find a job many times was finally realized. With her outstanding talent and courage, she took the exam in many colleges Zhang yaruo was employed as a clerk of Jiangxi Provincial High Court under his new name. Just when Zhang yaruo worked well in Jiangxi Provincial High Court and was appreciated by his superiors, his husband Tang Yinggang died of acute pneumonia when he accidentally fell into the water on a boat. Zhang yaruo became a beautiful young widow in 1936.
Jiang Zhang's love
In Nanchang in 1938, anti Japanese propaganda and support work were very active. In order to get rid of the entanglement of vice president Liu and to give full play to his talents, Zhang yaruo applied for the publicity team of Nanchang Sixth Division and was successfully admitted. One day, when yaruo was rehearsing Peking Opera with his team members, his teacher Guo Libo and his party suddenly came to inspect the rehearsal and introduced them to the team members: "this is Comrade Jing Guo, deputy director of the provincial security department." Jiang said: "just now this young comrade sang very well. What's your name, please? " Zhang Hui replied, "my name is Zhang yaruo. I'm already an adult." Nanchang fell into the hands of the Japanese aggressors. Yaruo came to Ganzhou with the exiled people. She was soon employed as the librarian of Ganzhou special office. Due to her excellent work, she was transferred by Ganzhou Commissioner Jiang Jingguo to serve as secretary of the anti enemy Mobilization Committee of Ganzhou special office. Soon she entered the training class for young cadres in chizhuling, Ganzhou. She fully showed her various talents and was recommended as Jiang Jingguo's secretary in Qingzhou Assistant to the class. At this time, Jiang Jingguo had already poured out his love to Zhang yaruo, but Zhang had a wife and children, and he was also a "Prince". He was a widow and did not dare to climb up. If he fell in love with Jiang outside his marriage, it would affect their social influence. For other reasons, Zhang yaruo flatly rejected Jiang's love. After graduating from Qinggan class, Zhang was arranged by Jiang Jingguo to be Secretary of the special office. As an assistant secretary, he soon served as the head of the special office's "people's information office" (similar to today's petition Office). In the name of the Secretary of the special office and a reporter of the Youth Daily, he often went out with Commissioner Jiang to catch gambling, ban opium or visit counties. He wrote relevant reports and articles and published them in the youth daily under the pseudonym of "Zhang pin" or "Mao Li", sometimes accompanied by ink paintings The painting was published at the same time. As commissioner Jiang poured out his love to Zhang yaruo again and again, Zhang was finally melted by his true feelings, so they agreed on the love names: Huifeng (Jiang Jingguo) and maoyun (Zhang yaruo). Jingguo arranged for his lover Zhang yaruo to get in touch with his wife Jiang Fangliang. Jingguo wanted to report this happy event to his father Chiang Kai Shek, but because of the national crisis and the unfavorable war, he never had the opportunity to report it.
In the summer of 1941, Zhang yaruo was pregnant and they were overjoyed. When Jingguo went to Chongqing to report the good news to his father and asked his father to allow them to get married. However, the chairman of the committee, because of the difficulties in the war and the many false accusations made to Chiang Kai Shek by the Gangzhou Mafia and evil forces which were hit by the "three prohibitions" of the state, said that it was not suitable to have such a marriage at the moment, and that they should secretly transfer to a place to wait for labor before their stomachs grow up. They were very distressed that they didn't get Chiang Kai Shek's and the society's approval of the marriage. Yaruo wanted to go to the hospital for abortion, but Jingguo didn't agree. So they invited some close friends and confidants to go to Guilin, Guangxi for a farewell party. It can also be regarded as an internal disclosure of the marriage. Accompanied by her good friend GUI Changde, she went from Ganzhou to Guilin to take care of her pregnancy and childbirth. In Guilin, Jiang Jingguo entrusted his good friend Qiu Changwei, director of the Department of civil affairs of Guangxi Province, to take care of Zhang yaruo's affairs.
The truth of death
For a long time, the love story of Jiang Jingguo and Zhang yaruo has attracted people's attention. Even two famous American newspapers, the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, have carried out long reports with remarkable length.
How did Zhang yaruo die? Was he ill, in an accident, or murdered? This has always been an unsolved mystery. Since the end of the 1980s, there have been a large number of articles and books on memory. Although there are some controversies, the mainstream view is that Zhang yaruo was killed by Huang Zhongmei, and Huang's motive is "loyalty" to the Chiang family.
However, according to some data, the death of Zhang yaruo has nothing to do with Huang Zhongmei.
In 2004, Gu Wenwen, a retired major general of Taiwan's "Security Bureau", told the public in an interview with a reporter from Huasheng weekly that "it was Chiang Kai Shek and Chen Lifu who ordered the murder of Zhang yaruo, Chiang Ching Kuo's lover."

So Chiang Ching Kuo and Zhang Ya Ruo invited some close friends and confidants to go to Guilin, Guangxi Province to see Zhang Ya Ruo off at the "Zhang Wan Shun" restaurant in Ganzhou. It was also an internal disclosure of the marriage, and Zhang Ya ruo's good friend GUI Chang De accompanied Zhang Ya Ruo from Ganzhou to Guilin to take care of her pregnancy and childbirth. In Guilin, Jiang Jingguo entrusted his good friend Qiu Changwei, director of the Department of civil affairs of Guangxi Province, to take care of Zhang yaruo's affairs.
