Zhang Chunqiao
Zhang Chunqiao (February 1, 1917 - April 21, 2005), male, Han nationality, born in Juye, Heze, Shandong Province, is the principal criminal of Jiangqing counter revolutionary group. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice premier of the State Council of the people's Republic of China, member of the Standing Committee of the Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee and director of the General Political Department of the PLA, political commissar of the Nanjing Military Region, director of the Shanghai Municipal Revolutionary Committee, and first Secretary of the Shanghai municipal Party committee. He was a member of the gang of four and one of the main planners of the Proletarian Cultural Revolution. In October 1976, he was isolated and censored by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and was removed from all his posts inside and outside the party in Shanghai.
In July 1977, the Third Plenary Session of the tenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China passed a resolution to expel him from the party forever. From the 20th of the next month to the 25th of January 1981, he was publicly tried by the special court of the Supreme People's Court of the people's Republic of China and sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve. In January 1983, he was reduced to life imprisonment and deprived of political rights for life. In December 1997, he was sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment and deprived of political rights for 10 years. In January 1998, he was released on bail for medical treatment. He died of cancer on April 21, 2005.
Life of the characters
From 1931 to 1934, he studied in Jinan Zhengyi middle school.
In the spring of 1933, he participated in the establishment of the Huadi society and became a peripheral organization of the revival society of the Kuomintang.

In 1958, he published the article "breaking the bourgeois legal right thought" to publicize the "left" thought.
In 1965, he served as the Secretary of Shanghai municipal Party committee, in charge of propaganda and cultural work.
Since 1966 when the "Cultural Revolution" was launched, he has been the deputy leader of the leading group of the cultural revolution of the CPC Central Committee.
In early 1967, together with Yao Wenyuan and Wang Hongwen, they created a "January storm" in Shanghai, and seized power throughout the country. Since then, he has served as director of the Shanghai Municipal Revolutionary Committee, first Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee, first political member of the Nanjing Military Region, and standing member of the Central Military Commission of the CPC.
In January 1975, he served as vice premier of the State Council of the people's Republic of China and director of the General Political Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. He was elected as a member of the 9th and 10th CPC Central Committee, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 10th CPC Central Committee. He led the counter revolutionary group with Jiang Qing and other organizations, frantically carried out the activities of seizing the leadership of the party and the state, instigated to overthrow a large number of Party and state leaders, provoked armed fights, cruelly persecuted veteran cadres, and created a series of unjust, false and wrong cases. He was the main culprit of Jiang Qing's counter revolutionary group, causing extremely serious harm to the country and the people.
