Pengzu
Among the Taoist immortals, Pengzu is famous for his longevity. Peng zuwei, surnamed Keng, is the xuansun of emperor Zhuanxu and the son of Lu Zhong.
It is said that when he was a doctor of Yin, he was more than 700 years old, but he did not have the appearance of aging. He often took cinnamon powder and Mojiao powder, and was good at fangzhongshu, guiding Qi, and passed it on to cainu, King Yin and others. Later, he traveled around the world and went to be an immortal. Because he was granted the title of Pengcheng by Yao, he lived a long life and was worthy of his ancestor, so he was honored as "Pengzu" in later generations. Jin Ganbao's "Soushenji" volume one said: "Pengzu was also a doctor of Yin Dynasty. His name is Keng, the grandson of emperor Zhuanxu and the son of Lu Zhong. In the summer, it came to the end of the Shang Dynasty. It was 700 years old. " In the first volume of the legend of immortals, it is said that the king of Yin's maiden asked Peng Zu, "I was born on my abdomens and lost my mother when I was three years old. I was exiled from the western regions in the chaos of dog soldiers for more than a hundred years. He lost his 49 wives and 54 sons. He suffered a number of troubles and was hurt by his harmony. He was worried that he would not live in the world. What we have heard is not enough to publicize. " Then I went, and I didn't know where I was going. Over the next 70 years, I heard about it in the country of quicksand and saw it in the West. In the book of songs of Chu, Tian Wen said: "Peng Keng poured out pheasants. How can the emperor enjoy them? How long will he live? How can his husband grow up?" It means that Pengzu offered pheasant soup to the emperor of heaven, and the emperor of heaven gave him 800 years old. "Chuang Tzu deliberately" said: "blowing breath, spit out the old and accept the new, Xiong jingniaoshen, just for life. The person who guides and cultivates the body is the best of Peng Zu's longevity examiners. "
Because Peng Zu lived a long life and was good at Fangzhong, many Fangzhong works in later generations were borrowed. Such as Pengzu Jing mentioned in baopuzi · Yalan, Pengzu Yangxing Jing mentioned in suishu · jingjizhi and Pengzu Yangxing Jing mentioned in new Tangshu · Yiwenzhi, these classics have long been lost. From the quotations of the medical books "ten questions" and "Yi Xin Fang" unearthed in Mawangdui, we can know the idea of the art. These contents contain more reasonable elements, and become an important part of the ancient traditional Chinese medicine.
