Life of the characters
Early experience
When he was young, Tian Chou liked reading and was good at fencing. In the first year of Chuping (190), the uprising of righteous soldiers in Guandong, Dong Zhuo moved Han Xiandi to Chang'an. Liu Yu, a nomad in Youzhou, sighed: "the bandit officials' rebellion, the imperial court's exile, the collapse of the four seas, no one has firm faith. As a relic of the royal clan, I can't be the same as everyone else. Now I'd like to invite an envoy to the imperial court to do my best as a loyal minister. How can I get people who live up to my mission? " Everyone said, "although Tian Chou is young, many people call him a strange man." Tian Chou was only 22 years old.
Under orders
In 191, Liu Yu politely invited Tian Chou to meet him. He was very satisfied with him, so he asked him to take up the post and buy a car for him. When he was about to leave, Tian Chou said: "now the roads are blocked and the bandits are rampant. If I claim that the officials are appointed as envoys, I will be named by the people. It's inconvenient. I would like to go in my personal capacity and hope to arrive smoothly. " Liu Yu followed his advice. So Tian Chou went home and chose his family and more than 20 young men who were willing to be his followers. They rode together. Liu Yu went out to sacrifice to the God of the road to see Tian Chou off. After going on the road, Tian Chou went to Juyong Pass, went out of the frontier fortress, went directly to Shuofang County along the Yinshan Mountain, followed the path, and finally arrived at Chang'an and completed his mission. The imperial court issued an imperial edict to appoint Tian Chou as the riding commander. Tian Chou thought that the emperor had just returned from exile and had not yet settled down. He could not bear such honor and favor, and insisted on resigning. The court respected his will. At the same time, Tian Chou did not accept the conscription.
Pay homage to Liu Yu
In 193, Liu Yu and Gong sun Zan attacked each other. After Tian Chou got the report, he quickly returned. Before he arrived, Liu Yu had been killed by Gong sun Zan. After Tian Chou came back, he went to Liu Yu's tomb to pay homage to him. He sent out his watch and left crying. When Gongsun Zan got angry, he offered a reward and captured Tian Chou. He said to him, "why do you go to Liu Yu's tomb alone and cry, but don't you come to send me a report?" Tian Chou replied: "the royal family of the Han Dynasty was in decline, and everyone had a different heart. Only Duke Liu did not lose his loyalty. I'm afraid that what you said in the report form has nothing good to say to the general. I'm afraid you're not happy to know, so I didn't send it. What's more, the general is setting up a major event to satisfy his desire. He has already killed the Lord who has no sin, and he has also taken revenge on his loyal ministers. If he has done this, then the taxi people in Yan and Zhao areas will only die in the East China Sea. How can anyone have the heart to follow the general? " Gongsun Zan, because of Tian Chou's forthright reply, untied him and did not dare to harm him.
Living in seclusion
Gongsun Zan detained Tian Chou in the military camp and prohibited his friends from communicating with him. Someone advised Gongsun Zan: "Tian Chou is a righteous man. You can't treat him politely. Instead, you lock him up. I'm afraid you'll lose everyone's heart." Gongsun Zan then released and sent Tian Chou away. Tian Chou was able to return to the north, leading all the clans and hundreds of people who came to depend on him from other places. He swept the floor and swore, "if you don't avenge me, I will no longer stand in the world!" Then he went into Xuwu mountain and built a far-reaching, steep and open open space to live in. He cultivated grain for his parents. The common people came to attach themselves, and in a few years there were more than 5000 households. Tian Chou said to his parents, "you don't think Tian Chou is not a good man. If you come to take refuge from afar, a large number of people will form a town, but there is no unity. I'm afraid it's not a long-term and stable way to do it. I hope you can choose a good man or an old man to be the leader." Everyone said "good" and together they elected Tian Chou. Tian Chou said: "now we are here not just for the sake of immediate stability, but for the purpose of plotting great things and avenging ourselves. I worry privately that our ambition has not yet been fulfilled, and that the frivolous and frivolous people themselves harass and bully each other, enjoy themselves for a while, but have no foresight. Tian Chou, I have an immature plan. I hope to implement it with you. Is that ok? " Everyone said, "yes." Tian Chou made laws on killing, stealing and litigation for everyone, stipulating that those who break the law should be sentenced to death, and those who break the law should also be punished. There are more than 20 laws. They also formulated the etiquette of weddings and funerals, set up schools to teach knowledge, and promulgated it to the public. They are all familiar with it, to the point that they can't find anything on the way. The people in the northern border areas gathered one after another to obey his authority. Wuwan and Xianbei also sent envoys to deliver tribute. Tianchou accepted and comforted them, so that they would not invade. Yuan Shao sent envoys several times to invite him, and immediately granted him a general seal to appease the people under Tian Chou's rule. Tian Chou refused and did not accept it. After Yuan Shao died, his son yuan Shang came to enlist again, but Tian Chou never went.
Zhuzhengwu pill
Tian Chou often hated Wu Huan for killing the local literati. He wanted to attack them, but his strength was not enough. In the 12th year of Jian'an (207), before Cao Cao's northern expedition to Wuhuan, he first sent envoys to recruit Tian Chou, and then ordered Tian Chou to tell him his will. Tian Chou Jie ordered the guests to pack and pack quickly. The door guest said to him, "in the past, Mr. Yuan admired you, and you didn't give in to gifts and orders many times. Now, when Mr. Cao's envoy came for the first time, you seem to have no time. Why?" Tian Chou replied with a smile, "this is not what you understand." So he followed the emissary to Cao Cao's army and was appointed as Cao Yu, a member of the Sikong family. He was ready to introduce him. The next day, Cao Cao issued an edict saying, "Tian Zitai is not the person I should appoint as an official." He was recommended as maocai and appointed as the county magistrate. Tian Chou didn't take office. He went to Wuzhong county with the army. At that time, it was raining in summer. In the low-lying coastal area, it was muddy and impassable, and the bandits were guarding the dangerous road, so Cao Jun could not advance. Cao Cao was very worried and asked Tian Chou about it. Tian Chou said: "this road often seeps in summer. It can't pass cars and horses in shallow places, and it can't carry ships in deep places. This kind of disaster has been formed for a long time. The original Beiping county was located in Pinggang County, from lulongsai to Liucheng. Since the reign of Emperor Guangwu of Han Dynasty, it has been broken for nearly 200 years, but there are still hidden paths to be found. Now the brigands and horses of the general group of the thief side are on the road to no end, unable to advance, retreating, slack and unprepared. If we lead our troops back quietly, cross the dangerous area of white sandalwood from lulongkou, walk out of the open area, the road is close and easy to walk, and take advantage of it to attack, the head of Tatton can be captured without fighting. " Cao Cao said, "good." He led the army back, and put up a big log beside the water side road, and wrote: "it's hot summer now, and the road is blocked. Let's wait until autumn and winter." The cavalry detective of the thief army saw it and really thought that Cao Jun had gone. Cao Cao ordered Tian Chou to lead his subordinates as a guide. They went up to Xu Wushan, passed Lulong, passed Pinggang, and boarded Bailang city. When they were more than 200 miles away from Liucheng, the bandits became alert. Shan Yu went to battle himself. Cao Cao finally won the battle with him and chased the defeated soldiers to Liucheng. Cao Jun returned to Guannei and rewarded him for his merits. He granted Tianchou the title of Marquis of the pavilion and 500 families of the city.
Stick to your heart
Tian Chou himself thought that he had led the people to escape for the sake of the death of the Lord, but his ambition of revenge had not been realized. Instead, he relied on it to obtain wealth. This was not his original intention, so he insisted on giving way. Cao Cao knew that he was sincere and agreed, but did not force him. Liaodong beheaded yuan Shang's head, and Cao Cao ordered: "anyone in the three armies who dares to cry for yuan Shang, behead him." Because Tian Chou had been called up by Yuan Shang, he went to mourn. Cao Cao did not pursue it. Tian Chou led his family and more than 300 families to live in Ye County. Cao Cao gave Tian Chou chariots, horses, grain, silk and silk. He also gave them to his clansmen and old friends. Tian Chou came back from his expedition to Jingzhou with Cao Cao. Cao Cao made great contributions to his memory. He regretted that he had listened to Tian Chou's resignation last time and said, "this has fulfilled your ambition and damaged the legal system of the country." So he granted Tianchou the title of the last time. Tian Chou Shangshu stated his sincerity and swore by death. Cao Cao didn't listen and wanted to recruit him to be an official. Tian Chou didn't accept it after all. The impeachment of Tian Chou by Yousi was narrow and stubborn, which was against the right path. He only knew how to stick to the details, so he should be removed from office and punished. Cao Cao respected Tian Chou's behavior and hesitated for a long time. Finally, he handed the matter over to his son Cao Pi for extensive discussion with his ministers. Cao Pi believed that Tian Chou was the same as Yin Ziwen and Shen Baoxu, who were ordered by the state of Chu to resign their salaries and evade the reward. He should not force him, but fulfill his integrity. Xun Yu and Zhong Yao, the commander of Sili school, also thought that they could obey his own wishes. Cao Cao also wanted to make Tian chou a marquis. Because Tian Chou was always friendly with XiahouDun, Cao Cao said to XiahouDun, "go and persuade him with your friendship. Everything comes out of your mouth. Don't tell him what I mean." XiahouDun stayed in Tianchou, just as Cao Cao said. Tian Chou guessed his intention and said nothing more about being granted.
