Wang Li
Wang Li (1925.12-2000.4), also known as Wang Jingxiang, was born in Xingning, Guangdong Province. He is a member of China Artists Association and a national first-class artist. He once served as the assistant director of China Edition, executive director of Guangdong Art Association, member of Guangdong Federation of literary and art circles, secretary general and consultant of Guangdong Academy of painting. In the 1940s, he was engaged in fine arts activities. In the early stage, he was famous for printmaking, and in the later stage, he was mainly engaged in traditional Chinese painting. Many of his works have participated in national exhibitions and overseas exhibitions. He participated in the woodcut exhibition in the eight years of the Anti Japanese war. He won the Lu Xun print award. After 1960s, he went deep into Wolong Nature Reserve and specially painted panda and bamboo.

Wang Li (1925-2000), formerly known as Wang Jingxiang, was born in Pingtang village, ningtang, Xingning, Guangdong Province. When he was young, under the guidance of Fu Sida, a traditional Chinese painter, he stepped into the threshold of art and began to make wood carvings with the help of several books such as the Soviet Union print collection and how to create wood carvings. Later, under the guidance of the famous teacher Huang Xinbo, he created a large-scale woodcut portrait of Lev Tolstoy for the first time in Guilin, Guangxi, which was the rear area of the Anti Japanese war at that time. Then, he completed the woodcut portraits of Byron, Roman Roland, Dostoevsky and other world literary giants, which were hung in the reception hall of Chongqing culture and Culture Commission presided over by Guo Moruo, and was praised by the progressive woodcut group At that time, he was only 17 years old. After 1943, when he was teaching in Zhongshan middle school in Guidong, he created woodcut works reflecting local rural life, such as producer, nowhere to find wild vegetables, eating the wrong leaves and long drought. On June 30, 1946, he was arrested and jailed by the reactionary authorities for his group painting return from the disaster area. after the founding of the people's Republic of China, he successively worked in the South China Federation of literary and art circles, Nanfang Daily, Yangcheng Evening News, Guangdong pictorial, and created some influential works at that time, such as the early awakening of Canyon, the construction of hydropower station, Nanhai fishing village, etc. In the 1960s, he turned the focus of his creation to Chinese painting. The bamboo in his works is of profound skill, free flowing and unique style. People call him "bamboo maniac". In 1978, he served as Secretary General of Guangdong Academy of painting, assistant director of Chinese edition, executive director of Guangdong Art Association, national first-class artist, and vice president of Jiaying calligraphy and Painting Research Association. In 1989, after retiring as a second-line art consultant, he created many masterpieces in Wolong, Sichuan, such as "deep love between mother and son" and "panda home". He was specially invited to draw a picture of the giant panda in the Asian Games, and the Diaoyutai state guesthouse of the Ministry of foreign affairs collected his "silent bamboo flute". His paintings are well-known both at home and abroad, and have been included in the anthology of modern Chinese painting, anthology of contemporary Chinese painting and calligraphy, anthology of Chinese New Literature and art. The bamboo and panda pictures created are widely circulated and regarded as art treasures, which are collected by the United States, the Soviet Union, Japan and other countries. In 1990, the picture of the giant panda, which was exhibited in the Japan China exchange art exhibition, won the Yokohama mayor Award for the second time after the print Jilin spring. Then, the first exhibition of Wang Li's ink painting was held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, which was a pioneering work for the cultural exchange between the mainland and Taiwan. In September 1991, he won the "Contribution Award for the 60th anniversary of China's new print movement". Guangdong TV station and the Central News Film Studio have successively shot the feature films of "green leaves sprout new branches" and "bamboo in Wang Li's works". He was sentimentally attached to his hometown where he was born and raised. He created "the moon is the brightness of his hometown" and "Huang Zunxian's former residence". In many paintings, he called himself "jiayingzhou people" to express his hometown and family feelings. He participated in the establishment of "Qingzhen printmaking Association", personally served as the honorary president of Qingzhen printmaking Association, and successfully organized Qingzhen printmaking to attend exhibitions in Japan for many times.

The works are collected by China Art Museum, China Military Museum, Guangdong Art Museum, Tianjin Art Museum, Guilin Museum, Great Hall of the people, Brooklyn Museum, Oriental Museum of the former Soviet Union, etc. The biography has been included in the dictionary of Chinese artists, the dictionary of contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and painters and other dictionaries. He has published the portrait leaflet of the four literary giants, two volumes of Wang Li's painting collection, new works of Wang Li's traditional Chinese painting collection, and Wang Li's art review collection.

In 1991, he won the contribution award of Xinxing printmaking issued by China Artists Association and China Printmaking Association, in 1994, he won the gold award of Huaxia Art International Exhibition, and twice won the mayor award of Yokohama, Japan.
