To stop fighting is to stop fighting. Martial arts is the strength to stop fighting. Virtue is a kind of behavior with benevolence and righteousness as the core idea and integrity as the conduct.
Martial virtue refers to the behavior characteristics of martial arts and the code of conduct of martial arts practitioners based on benevolence and righteousness. In ancient China, the master would point to the word "Wu" and explain it to his disciples before he passed on his art. That is to say, the martial arts learners should learn to put down their weapons before they pick up their weapons. The disciples should first exercise their mind and nature by doing chores. Only after their mind and nature are stable can they formally practice martial arts. In ancient China, there was only the word "weapon", not the word "weapon".
Interpretation of Wushu Morality
As early as in Zuo Zhuan written by Zuo Qiuming in the spring and Autumn period, there was a discussion that "there are seven virtues of Wu". Later, with the development of the times, the meaning of Wushu Morality is constantly changing and developing. In the past, most of them took "respecting teachers and respecting morality, filial piety and justice, helping the poor and the poor, eliminating the tyrant and pacifying the good", "asking for advice with an open mind, treating others with condescension, helping others" and "abstaining from extravagance and licentiousness" as their tenets. Each school of martial arts has its own "rules", "precepts" and "precepts", and "three no pass", "five no pass", "ten no pass", as well as "eight commandments" and "Ten Tips" are the standards of martial arts morality. Today, there are also many scholars who summarize the morality of martial arts. Some scholars think that morality of martial arts is "the spirit of advocating morality of martial arts", some scholars think that morality of martial arts is "a virtue", and some scholars think that morality of martial arts is "the morality embodied by martial arts". In 1987, the National Wushu academic seminar summarized the standard of Wushu Morality as "advocating Wushu and morality, cultivating morality". All of these generalize the virtue of martial arts from different aspects, but in fact, virtue of martial arts is a kind of ethics, so we should define virtue of martial arts from the perspective of ethics.
We believe that Wushu Morality is the moral standard and moral quality that people engaged in Wushu activities should follow in social activities. In short, it is Wushu Morality. "Tao" generally refers to the law of things' movement and change, and extends to the social code of conduct, rules or norms that people must follow; "Virtue" is to get, that is to say, people know "Tao", follow "Tao", gain internally from themselves, and give externally to others, which is called "Virtue". "Tao" mainly refers to an external requirement, while "Virtue" refers to the inner spiritual sentiment or realm. The combination of the two words "morality" can be seen in Xunzi's "persuasion of learning" chapter: "therefore, learning is based on etiquette, and husband is the pole of morality.".

The essence of Wushu Morality is also the principle of social justice, that is, justice, fairness and justice, which is one of the oldest moral concepts of human beings. Wude also adjusts the relationship between people and society through the role of public opinion, the pressure of the public and the uneasiness of conscience.
Since there were the earliest written laws in China, such as Sui law and Tang law, Wude has never been in conflict with the law. Just like morality, the practical scope of Wushu Morality is wider than national law. We advocate martial virtues, which should be unified and consistent with the national constitution and all corresponding rules and regulations under the premise of national laws.
New martial virtues
Today, the traditional morality of martial arts can't meet the needs of social development, such as the "Brotherhood" of playing a hero, showing off a hero and fighting for friends, and the behavior of "only obeying the teacher's orders" with the thought of three cardinal guides and five constant principles. Therefore, we should analyze the traditional morality of martial arts, inherit the reasonable elements of the traditional morality of martial arts, criticize the outdated old morality of martial arts, and establish a new concept of morality of martial arts.
Inheriting the essence of traditional martial arts, we should link martial arts with the splendid culture of our motherland and love our motherland, cultivate a strong sense of national pride, safeguard the dignity of the Chinese nation, have a broad mind, treat the people with courtesy, do not rely on wounding and hurting people, do not bully the weak, and dare to speak for the bad people who are in danger of the motherland and the interests of the people. The public security departments should maintain public order and safeguard the interests of the country and the people; maintain the virtues of not stealing names, not profiteering, not conservative, and being eager to help others; respect the old and love the young, respect teachers and respect the way of life; learn from the works and experiences of predecessors and elders with an open mind, study carefully, study hard, practice hard, and cultivate a strong will of kindness, courage, wisdom and perseverance, and cultivate good physical quality Wu Shuangquan makes the greatest contribution to the society.
Bad habits of practicing martial arts
The practitioners should also try to overcome all kinds of bad habits in traditional martial arts morality
First of all, it overcomes the closeness and conservatism of Wushu inheritance in traditional Wushu Morality, which is embodied in the tendency of consanguinity and regional.
Secondly, there was a strong superstition in the custom of respecting ancestors, which resulted in many unhealthy tendencies, such as following the rules and regulations, inheriting genealogy and erecting memorial tablets, as well as the custom of abiding by ancestors' precepts and doctrines. It suppresses the progress and development of Wude thought and stifles creativity.
Third, the feudal consciousness of the "sectarian struggle" erodes the Wulin, and they satirize, repel, scold and even fight against each other in order to fight for integrity. Its root lies in the feudal social thinking formed under the restriction of narrow and backward productive forces in the feudal society for thousands of years. It is the product of the self-sufficient natural economy and the reflection of this historical inferiority, with great blindness and one sidedness. The essence of Wushu lies in emphasizing morality.
As a virtue that martial arts practitioners should possess and a social ideology, martial arts morality guides people's common martial arts life and the norms and norms of their behaviors, and permeates into their thoughts, words and deeds. Attaching importance to martial arts morality is a prerequisite for the development of martial arts. It is also a prerequisite for the cultivation of new construction talents with both civil and martial arts abilities and all-round development of morality, intelligence and physical education. It is also an important condition for maintaining social stability.
