Chen Hugong
GUI man, namely Chen Hu Gong, is also called Chen man, Chen Hu Gong man and Yu Hu Gong. GUI surname, Yu family, full name, the word Shaotang, after Emperor Shun, the son of Tao Zhenghe's father, the first monarch of the state of Chen in the Zhou Dynasty.
After King Wu of Zhou destroyed the Shang Dynasty and built the Zhou Dynasty, he married his eldest daughter, Daji, to Gui man, who was later Emperor Shun, and granted the title to Chen, establishing the state of Chen and worshiping Emperor Shun. During GUI man's reign, Chen city was built to resist the invasion of foreign enemies, and the people were educated by the etiquette and morality of Zhou Dynasty, which made Chen state a state of etiquette. After GUI man died, his posthumous title was Hu Gong, Chen Hu Gong. His son xihou succeeded to the throne and was the Duke of Chen Shen. After Wang Mang, a descendant of Chen Hu Gong, became emperor, he pursued and respected Chen Hu Gong as the king of Chen Hu.

Family background
Chen Hugong, surnamed GUI, has a surname of Yu. His name is man. He is a descendant of Emperor Shun. When Emperor Shun was a common man, Emperor Yao married his two daughters, e Huang and nu Ying, and lived in GUI. The descendants of Emperor Shun took the place name as their surname, GUI. After Emperor Shun died, he handed down the world to Yu. After the establishment of the Xia Dynasty, Yu granted Shang Jun, son of Emperor Shun, the state of Yu, and Shang Jun became a vassal.
During the Xia Dynasty, the state of Yu sometimes lost its enfeoffment and sometimes continued to be enfeoffed. The monarchs of the state of Yu, such as Yu Si and Yu Sui, were the ancestors of Yu man.
At the end of the Shang Dynasty, Yu man's father, Yu Kai's father, defected to the Zhou tribe as Tao Zheng. Yu Kai's father was highly valued by King Wen of Zhou Dynasty and King Wu of Zhou Dynasty for his excellent pottery making skills.
Establishing Chen state
Yu man was intelligent from childhood, wise and understanding in his old age, with noble moral character and brilliant talent. In the 11th year of King Wu of Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC), King Wu of Zhou defeated the Shang army in the battle of Muye, destroyed the Shang Dynasty and established the Zhou regime, which is known as the Western Zhou Dynasty in history.
After the establishment of the Zhou Dynasty, in order to consolidate the political power of the Zhou Dynasty, the king of Zhou Wu granted the meritorious officials, lineages and the descendants of the sages. He married his eldest daughter Daji to Yuman after Emperor Shun, and granted her the title of "Chen" in order to offer sacrifices to Emperor Shun. The capital city is now Huaiyang, Henan Province, and is a marquis. Guiman died on the 15th of the first month of the ninth year of King Cheng of Zhou Dynasty. He was named Duke Hu of Chen after his posthumous title. He was buried in the territory of the state of Chen (the capital of which is now Huaiyang, Henan Province). His son xihou succeeded to the throne and became Duke Shen of Chen.

Wanqiu, the capital
Chen Hu Gong built his capital in wanqiu (now Huaiyang County, Henan Province). Around the city, there is an earthen outer wall, namely the city wall. The levee is high enough to prevent water damage.
