Theme of the work
sexual love
Wang Xiaobo's novels, for the first time, focus on "love", especially "sex", openly challenged the revolutionary logic. Wang Xiaobo not only inherited the thinking of the relationship between love and revolutionary power in the era, but also complied with the trend of secularization in the era. In his "revolution + love" novels, love, especially sexual love, is not only the power of daily desire, but also endowed with the transcendent subject value, which has become the major ethical support of "re enlightenment of human nature". The value of love in these novels lies in fighting against the harm of revolutionary narration to human nature and the shielding of revolutionary collective moralism to human nature. Although there are bold and straightforward descriptions of "sex" in his works, it does not refer to decadent daily life attitude, but elite value ethics. He stubbornly explored the complex forms of "revolution + love", critically explored the trauma of revolutionary discourse on human nature from the perspectives of "sadistic love" and "power relationship", and explored the complex combination of revolution and love. The unique ideological value of Wang Xiaobo's "revolution + love" novels is to deeply reveal the complex relationship between revolution and love in China. first,
