Li Lanqing

Li Lanqing, male, Han nationality, was born in May 1932 in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in September 1952 and took part in the work. He graduated from the Department of business management of Fudan University with university culture.

He once served as member of the 15th CPC Central Committee, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee, and vice premier of the State Council.

From 1952 to 1956, he was the planner and deputy chief of the planning section of Changchun No.1 Automobile factory. from 1956 to 1957, he went to Russia's Moscow likhachov automobile factory and Gorky automobile factory for internship. From 1957 to 1959, he served as the section chief of Planning Department of Changchun First Automobile Factory, and was employed as a part-time researcher by the Economic Research Institute of northeast Renmin University. From 1959 to 1961, he was a secretary of the mechanical department. from 1961 to 1969, he served as secretary of State Economic Commission and section chief of Enterprise Administration Bureau. from 1969 to 1972, it was transferred to the "May 7th" Cadre School of the State Economic Commission. from 1972 to 1978, he was deputy director of the planning department of the second automobile factory and the first Secretary of the Party committee of the engine factory. from 1978 to 1981, he was the deputy commander of the construction headquarters of the third automobile factory and the head of the Preparatory Office of the heavy automobile factory. from 1981 to 1982, he was the head of the government loan office of the State Administration of foreign investment. from 1982 to 1983, he served as director of the administration of foreign investment under the Ministry of foreign economic relations and trade. From 1983 to 1986, he was vice mayor of Tianjin and Secretary of the Party Working Committee for foreign economic relations and trade. He was Vice Minister of the Ministry of foreign economic relations and trade and Deputy Secretary of the Party group from 1986 to 1990. From 1990 to 1992, he was Minister of the Ministry of foreign economic relations and trade, Secretary of the party leading group, and deputy director of the economic and Trade Office of the State Council. in October 1992, he was elected a member of the Political Bureau of the 14th CPC Central Committee. He was appointed Vice Premier of the State Council at the first session of the Eighth National People's Congress in March 1993. In June of the same year, he served as the leader of the national anti smuggling Leading Group. In 1994, he served as the leader of the national leading group for foreign investment. In 1995, he served as chairman of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. He was elected member of the Political Bureau and Standing Committee of the 15th CPC Central Committee in September 1997. In 1998, he was the deputy leader of the national leading group of science and technology education.
