Zhang Dexin (1905.3.18-1992.10.25) was born in Dazhang village, Wenji Township, Huangxian County, Shandong Province. He was admitted to Zhicheng middle school in Huangxian in 1921. He was admitted to Beijing salt school in 1925.

He was admitted to Beijing salt school in 1925. In 1927, he studied in the Mathematics Department of Beijing Normal University. He graduated from salt college in 1929 and worked in Jinan Salt Department as a teacher of Jinan Zhengyi middle school. In August 1931, he went to Germany to study in the Mathematics Department of Berlin University. He joined the Anti Japanese Alliance in Germany in 1932 and the anti imperialist alliance the next year. He returned to China in July 1937 with a doctorate in mathematics. He has successively served as professor and head of Mathematics Department of northwest United University and Northwest Normal University. In 1946, he was employed as provost and Dean of Science College of Changchun University. In June 1947, acting president of Changchun University. On June 3, 1948, he escaped from Changchun in disguise and arrived in Harbin on August 20. He was warmly welcomed by Chairman Lin Feng of northeast Administrative Committee and people from all walks of life. In September 1949, he was appointed Vice President of Northeast University and awarded the title of professor. Proficient in German, English, Russian and French. On the eve of the founding of the people's Republic of China, he was invited to attend the first plenary session of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. He has successively served as deputy to the first, second, third, fifth, sixth and Seventh National People's Congress, vice chairman of the first to sixth Jilin Provincial Committee of CPPCC, vice mayor of Changchun City, vice chairman of Jilin Association for science and technology, chairman of Jilin Mathematics Association, chairman of Changchun Natural Science Federation, etc. His main works are integer theory.
