Huang Zhongsheng (1942 -), a political figure in Taiwan, is a member of the National Party of China. He is now the mayor of Taichung, Taiwan Province. In 2001, he was elected the 14th mayor of Taichung after defeating Liao Yonglai, the DPP county magistrate seeking re-election. In 2005, Qiu Taisan, then vice chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council, was defeated and re elected. In the 50 year history of the election of Taichung mayor by the red and black factions, it can be seen that Huang Zhongsheng has a good command of politics and people. Some commentators also pointed out that Huang Zhongsheng was lack of courage in administration, and he was over 60 years old, so he was ridiculed as "the old man governing the city".
