Du Xiaofan, doctoral supervisor, and academic member of the cultural heritage protection research center of Peking University.

In September 1998, he received a doctor's degree in cultural structure from national Kobe University, a master's degree in art history from literature research department of national Kobe University of Japan in 1996, and a bachelor's degree in Museology from History Department of Nankai University in 1984. From 1999 to 2001, he was a special researcher of Nara National Institute of culture and finance. From 1984 to 1993, he worked in Gansu Provincial Museum.

He works in the UNESCO Beijing office as the Commissioner of cultural heritage protection, responsible for the related work of cultural heritage protection projects; vice president of the World Heritage Research Committee of the Chinese society of cultural relics. He is a part-time professor and doctoral supervisor of the school of architecture and urban planning of Tongji University. He is also an academic member of the Research Center for cultural heritage protection of Peking University, an academic member of the Research Center for traditional crafts and cultural relics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a visiting researcher of the cultural Heritage Research Center of Fudan University, a visiting professor of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and an executive member of the East Asian Cultural Heritage Protection Association Deputy Secretary General of China Cultural Relic Protection Technology Association, executive director of China Institute of land economics, etc.
