In 1970, Zhang Weixin, who loves dancing, entered the dance training class of the Chinese people's Liberation Army railway corps and became a dancer. He has starred in large-scale dance dramas such as Yimeng song and white haired girl.

In 1979, he was admitted to the central song and dance troupe as a dancer. In the same year, he took part in the shooting of the feature film Lijiang spring and has been on the screen ever since.

Zhang Weixin's father is Chinese and her mother is Russian. She is of mixed blood. Her husband Li Daning is a director and actor of Bayi factory. Zhang Weixin worked as an agent for her daughter Li Xiaolu.
