Xie Jin is the national soul of Chinese movies. He pays special attention to the fate of the nation. His films represent the changes of different times, and can let the audience see the real living conditions of people at that time and the significance of the times. His artistic pursuit of keeping pace with the times and seeking innovation and change is admirable. Keeping pace with the times is Xie Jin's greatest characteristic. In his works, he has a strong sense of social responsibility and patriotic national consciousness, and combined with the film narrative method close to the public, reaching the peak of political and ethical melodrama, shaping a series of successful female images (Huang Shuqin, Yuan Quan, Yin Hong comprehensive review).
Xie Jin's early works always present optimistic and bright emotional color, which is consistent with the era atmosphere of the film. At this stage, the characters in his films are warm and simple, and the narrative style is light and smooth, full of romantic sentiment. Moreover, he is very good at using film language to express his feelings about the style of the times and social needs, and to express most people's mainstream feelings about social life. Xie Jin's films are in line with the psychological habits of Chinese audiences who like to watch happy ending films: good people go through hardships, bad people commit many evils; good people are strong and unyielding, bad people die
