Liu Fanggang

Liu Fanggang (1927-november 2004), born and raised in Taiwan, China, is a director and screenwriter in Hong Kong, China, and his representative work Hong Kong passers-by. After that, he turned to be the head teacher of TVB art training, and was full of Hong Kong stars.

In November 2004, he died of lung cancer in Vancouver at the age of 77.

Early experience

Liu Fanggang grew up in Taiwan, China, graduated from the journalism Institute of Zhengda University, worked as a journalist, and then went to Italy to study film.

Acting experience

In 1969, Liu Fanggang joined Hong Kong Cathay Pacific as a basic director. His first work "a good wife at home" was well received, and she became the heroine Li Linlin (wife of Jiang Davide). After 70 years of filming "congratulations on getting rich", Cathay Pacific ended its business, and then turned to Shao to shoot "Hong Kong passer-by". After that, he joined TVB as a director, and then turned to be a class teacher of artist training. Hong Kong stars, including Wang family, are all over the family Wei, Liang Chaowei, Carina Lau, Stephen Chow, Wu Junru, Zeng Huaqian, LAN jieying, Wu Qihua, etc.

Carina Lau immigrated to Hong Kong from the mainland in those years, but she was not good at Cantonese. She was rejected for the TVB training class. However, Liu Fanggang thought she was good-looking and recommended her to the class. She urged her to watch TV, read newspapers and learn Cantonese every day. Tony Leung is an excellent student in TVB training class. He has a deep relationship with his master and apprentice. After his retirement, Liu Fanggang went to Hong Kong and received the hospitality of Weizai and Jialing. Stephen Chow was not admitted to the TVB training class in that year. After Qi Meizhen lobbied Liu Fanggang, he was introduced and started his career. In his early years, Wong Kar Wai worked as a director of TVB. Under the guidance of his teacher, he released a new film and once went back to Hong Kong to enjoy it. Tang Zhenye is still on the verge of elimination after finishing the graduation examination. Fortunately, Liu Fanggang, his tutor of that year, was willing to give him the opportunity to be the master of ceremonies at the graduation party, because the performance score of the party will be incorporated into the graduation score. And Tang Zhenye is also proud, two weeks before the party, although classes have been closed, but he still insisted on going back to school to practice, and finally saved himself.

Liu Fanggang married actress Huang Shuyi in 1969 and divorced in 1978.

Life in old age

Liu Fanggang, who lived in Taiwan in his later years, suffered from kidney cancer and recovered after surgery. In 1994, a lunatic cut his neck with a knife. At that time, there was a lot of blood. After recovery, there was a big wound on his neck, and he often had difficulty swallowing. In April 2004, he moved to Vancouver, Canada, where he was taken care of by his children. However, he was soon found to have lung cancer, and his condition went from bad to worse. After suffering from the disease for three weeks, he finally died of pulmonary hydrops in November. He was 77 years old.
