Zhang Yuan, born in October 1963 in Donghai County, Jiangsu Province, graduated from Beijing Film Academy, is a male director in mainland China.

Personal life
Zhang Yuan and his wife Ning Dai have been in love for 20 years. They have a daughter, Ning Yuanyuan, who played the leading role in "looking beautiful".
