Character evaluation
Ye Weixin is a director who is involved in many kinds of films. He has tried Kung Fu, police, love, comedy, thriller, magic and so on. Ye Weixin made his mark by making ghost films. In his early years, biochemical longevity corpse created a precedent of Chinese zombie films, infusing the bloody scenes of Western zombie films and a large number of elements with local characteristics, enriching the interest of the film. Ye Weixin, with his own innovation and close to the style of Du Qifeng, combines the plot of Hong Kong style with the use of complex lens, and combines the quick and fierce action design with the simple and rough story, creating a fast action dance and a powerful visual effect, so as to create a new century action film. (Sina entertainment review)
The appearance of "dragon and Tiger Gate" officially marks the leading role of Ye Weixin in Hong Kong kung fu films, police and bandit films, marginal commercial literature and art films (he also has such masterpieces as "crack criminal police" and "Juliet and Liang Shanbo"). The Hong Kong flavor in Ye Weixin's works is not so small and conservative. At the same time, the feeling of Hong Kong movies in the 1980s, which are both amiable and sometimes amazing, is completely attached to him. (Information Times review)
