Zhang Huaxun
Zhang Huaxun, director, was born in Pengxian County, Sichuan Province on March 7, 1936. Zhang Huaxun had a very hard childhood. He sold vegetables and polished shoes. In 1951, he entered Pengxian No.1 middle school to study. Two years later, he joined the Chinese people's Liberation Army. Later, because of his injury, he was transferred to a naval unit in Beijing as a clerical. At this time, he became fascinated with movies and decided to be a filmmaker. In 1958, he applied for the director department of Beijing Film Academy confidently. After graduation, he was assigned to Beijing Film Studio and started his film career. As an assistant to the famous director Cui Wei, he took part in the shooting of "Xiaobing zhangga", "wind and rain mileage" and other films. He learned a lot from the older generation.
Acting experience
In 1980, he tried to be a director for the first time, directing the film "mysterious Buddha", which can be regarded as a martial arts film. Although the audience has different opinions on the film, Zhang Huaxun thinks that China is the birthplace of martial arts and martial arts is a pearl in the treasure house of Chinese culture. He hopes to make Chinese martial arts films with Chinese characteristics. For this reason, he went deep into his life, got familiar with the situation, read historical materials, and successively participated in the national martial arts conferences held in Xi'an, Shenyang and other places. He met many famous martial arts experts in China and listened to them talk about martial arts and tell stories. It took more than a year to complete the creation of the film "records of the Wulin" in 1982. In shooting, Zhang Huaxun learned the lesson from "the mysterious Buddha" instead of following it According to the general style of martial arts, the film should be treated as a solemn and stirring drama. The film should have thoughts, depth, stories and characters. Martial arts should be true and believable. No mysterious "Superman" actions should be made. Some exaggerated handling requirements should be limited to the real and believable range, so as to enhance the authenticity of martial arts and reflect the realistic style. The shooting and scene transformation of "Wu Lin Zhi" is simple, bright and easy to understand. When it was released, it aroused strong resonance among the audience. The film won the second prize of excellent film of the Ministry of culture in 1984. After that, Zhang Huaxun made many films, such as "the tide of the sea", "OK big belly arhat", "Wutai mountain strange love", "chivalrous girl in white", "casting sword" and so on. Most of them are martial arts films. His films are different from those in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Although there are some shortcomings, it can be said that he created a precedent for Chinese martial arts films, and he has an indelible contribution to Chinese films.
Zhang Huaxun's directing style is excellent. He is conscientious and diligent in shooting. His professionalism has been praised by the film industry. In 1996, Zhang Huaxun was invited to be the director of the TV series romance of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Because of the conflict with the producer, he left the crew. This dispute left a deep reflection on whether China could implement the "producer centered system".
