Profile
The protagonist of "Xuanliang" in the idiom "Xuanliang stabbing Gu" (another protagonist is Su Qin, the Eastern Zhou political strategist who "stabbed Gu")
Sun Jing was a native of Xindu (now Jizhou District, Hengshui City) in the Han Dynasty. He is young, studious, well-informed and has a strong memory. In the evening, reading and studying often stay up all night. The neighbors call him "Mr. shut up.".
When Sun Jing was reading, he took notes at any time. He always saw that in the middle of the night, sometimes he would doze off. I wake up with remorse. One day, when he looked up and thought hard, his eyes stayed on the beam, and suddenly his eyes were bright. Then he found a rope. One end of the rope was tied to the beam, and the other end was tied to his hair. In this way, whenever he is tired and sleepy and wants to doze off, as long as his head is low, the rope will suddenly pull his hair, and the pain will wake him up and drive him away from sleep. From then on, he used this method to study hard every night.
He studied hard year after year, which made Sun Jing full of poetry, erudite and versatile. He became a well-known scholar of ancient and modern times. At that time, he was quite famous in the north of the Yangtze River and Huaihe River. There were often students who traveled thousands of miles to study with him to solve problems and discuss knowledge.
