Li Kui
Li Kui is an important character in the Chinese classic novel "Water Margin", and also one of the most important roles in Yuan drama "Water Margin drama". Li Kui was born thick and dark, nicknamed "Black Whirlwind". He was born in Baizhang village, Yishui County, Yizhou (now in Yishui County, Linyi City, Shandong Province). He escaped from the prison because he killed someone, but he was pardoned and was left in Jiangzhou by Dai Zong as a prisoner. In order to save Songjiang and Daizong, Li Kui and others make trouble in Jiangzhou. He wants to carry his mother to Liangshan to enjoy his happiness. However, because his mother was killed by tigers in Yiling, Li Kui angrily kills a litter of four tigers. Li Kui has excellent strength and is good at using a pair of axes. He is also one of the 108 generals. When Liangshan ranks the 22nd, he is the fifth infantry leader of Liangshan. He should go up to heaven to kill the stars.
After being recruited, Liangshan followed the army to attack Liao, Tian Hu, Wang Qing and Fang La; after the war, Liangshan was appointed as the capital of Zhenjiang Runzhou. After Song Jiang was poisoned by the poisonous wine sent by Gao Qiu and other treacherous officials, he worried that Li Kui would fight again for revenge, so he let Li Kui drink the poisonous wine, and then Li Kui died.

The origin of characters
Like many characters in Outlaws of the marsh, the formation of Li Kui, a hero of Liangshan, has a long process of evolution. According to the history of the Song Dynasty and other records, there were 36 leaders of the Song Jiang uprising in history, but most of their names were not recorded. According to historical records, there was a general named Li Kui at the turn of the Song Dynasty. Some scholars listed him in the possible historical prototype of Li Kui. However, except for the close age and the same name, Li Kui did not match Li Kui in Shuihu.
In the song and Yuan Dynasties Gong Kai's Song Jiang 36 people praise, the names and nicknames of 36 people first appeared, including "Black Whirlwind Li Kui". Li Kui also appeared as one of Song Jiang's subordinates in Xuanhe legacy of the great Song Dynasty about the same period, but there was no special plot. These two literary works are regarded as the prototype or blueprint of outlaws of the marsh.
In Yuan zaju, the image of Li Kui soon plumped up. The existing data show that in the dramas related to the story of Water Margin, Li Kui as the protagonist occupies a large proportion. Li kangkui and other famous plays, such as "the whirlwind of Li Jinghei". Generally speaking, in the early stage of the play, Li Kui was mostly a romantic figure, while in the later stage, his image gradually tended to be "silly man". This evolution laid the foundation for the image of Li Kui in Outlaws of the marsh. The plot of Li Kui in some Yuan zaju also entered the water margin. In addition, the famous playwright Zhu Youdun, the grandson of Zhu Yuanzhang, the Ming Taizu, also wrote "Black Whirlwind fighting for justice and wealth". The sequence of this play and the novel "Water Margin" is still controversial, but it should be based on the popular stories of water margin since the song and Yuan dynasties, rather than influenced by "Water Margin".
Character experience
Li Kui in Outlaws of the marsh is the most important part of this literary image. The following plot is based on the hundred and twenty chapters of the water margin. In other extant editions, there are no Zhengtian Hu and Wang Qing parts in the earlier Baihui edition. The Wangqing part of Zhengtian Hu in the simplified edition is different from Shuihu Quanzhuan (it is generally believed that Quanzhuan is adapted from the simplified edition), and Jin Shengtan's evaluation Edition (70 chapters) has no plot after great gathering.
Debut
Li Kui's nickname is tie Niu. He is known as "Black Whirlwind" in the world. He has an old mother and an elder brother named Li Da in his family. Because Li Kui killed someone, he escaped, met with amnesty, and was exiled in Jiangzhou. Song Jiang lent Li Kui ten taels of silver to gamble on. Li Kui was extremely impressed by his generosity. Then the three went to the pipa pavilion to drink. Song Jiang wanted to eat fresh fish, so Li Kui went to beg for it. However, he heard that he could not sell it until the owner came. Li Kui got angry because of this. Later, Zhang Shun, the owner of fish tooth, saw that he was making trouble, so he started fighting with him, from land to water, until Song Jiang and Dai Zong stopped. Since then, Zhang Shun and the three have become friends. Because of the wonderful scenes, the section of "Black Whirlwind fighting white stripes in the waves" often becomes the plot of Water Margin paintings and films.
Jiangzhou law robbery Center
A few days later, Song Jiang wrote poems in Xunyang upstairs after drinking. Huang Wenbing interpreted them as anti poems and reported them to CAI Dezhang, the magistrate of CAI Jiu in Jiangzhou. As a result, Song Jiang was sent to prison. Later, in order to save Song Jiang, Dai Zong sent a false letter made by Liangshan Po, which was also detected by Huang Wenbing. Song and Dai were sentenced to death and sent to the crossroads to be executed.
In order to save them, more than 20 heroes from Liangshan rushed to Jiangzhou and robbed the execution ground. Without knowing what Liangshan was doing, Li Kui also jumped from the upstairs where he was hiding in advance, chopped down two executioners and fought with Liangshan people at the same time. After rescuing song and Dai, Li Kui was able to kill people and cut them down whenever they met. Chao Gai, the leader of Liangshan, had no effect on his drinking resistance. After that, Li Kui and Liangshan all broke into the inaction army and killed Huang Wenbing. From then on, Li Kui and Zhang Shun of Jiangzhou followed Song Jiang to Liangshan.
Yiling kills four tigers
After Li Kui went to Liangshan, he thought of his mother very much. In order to let his mother enjoy happiness, he went home to pick up his old mother. On the way, Li Gui disguised himself as "Li Kui" and cut the path. Li Gui lied that he had a 90 year old mother at home, so he was let go by Li Kui. Later, Li Kui passed by Li Gui's house and found that Li Gui was not only untrue, but also trying to harm him, so he killed him. After returning home, Li Kui ran to Liangshan with his blind mother on his back. When he passed Yiling on the way, Li Kui put down his mother to pick up the water. When she came back, she found that her mother was eaten by the tiger. Li Kui was angry and killed a litter of four tigers.
Li Kui's killing of a tiger shocked the surrounding area. Due to Li Gui's wife's report, local Cao Taigong used a trick to catch him. The county magistrate of Yishui County sent Li Yun, a "green eyed tiger", to escort him to the county. On the way to escort Li Kui, Li Yun meets Zhu GUI and Zhu Fu, who have already learned about the incident, and is turned over by Ma. As a result, Li Kui was released and Li Yun and Zhu Fu went to Liangshan.
Killing Xiaoya Nei
After that, Li Kui took part in the three strikes against ZHUJIAZHUANG in Liangshan, killing Zhulong and ZhuBiao and destroying hujiazhuang.
Li Kui obeyed Wu Yong's orders and killed Xiaoya nei, the son of Cangzhou Prefecture magistrate, in order to let Zhu Tong go to Liangshan. Zhu Tong deeply hated Li Kui and wanted to fight with his life. Therefore, Li Kui stayed in Chai Jin's house for a while.
Beat Yan Tianxi in anger
Li Kui lived in Chai Jinzhuang for a month. During this period, Chai Jin's uncle Chai Huangcheng died of being bullied by Yin Tianxi, the new magistrate of Gaotang Prefecture and the wife and uncle of Gao Qiu's uncle and brother Gao Lian. In a rage, Li Kui killed Yin Tianxi, leading to Chai Jin's arrest and imprisonment. In order to save Chai Jin, Liangshan sent troops to attack Gaotang state, but Gao Lian was hindered by his evil ways. So Li Kui and Dai Zong were ordered to go to Jizhou to ask Gongsun Sheng to break Gaolian.
Axe cleaves immortal Luo
Dai Zong and Li Kui went to Jizhou together with shenxingfa. On the way, he used shenxingfa to make fun of Li Kui and subdued him. After they met with Gongsun Sheng's master, Luo Zhenren, Li Kui was so angry that he chopped him. However, Luo Zhenren taught him Taoism. Luo Zhenren said that Li Kui came down to earth as a celestial killer, "because the work of all living beings in the earth is too heavy, so he was punished to kill.". After getting Gongsun Sheng out of the mountain, on the way back, Li Kui made a bow to Tang long, the "money leopard", and took him up the mountain. After that, Gongsun Sheng broke Gao Lian's magic art by teaching "five thunder heavenly Gang Dharma" by immortal Luo. In order to make up for his fault, Li Kui went underground to save Chaijin.
Great gathering
After Chao Gai was shot in zengtou city and Song Jiang was the temporary leader of the stronghold, one day Song Jiang and Wu Yong listened to Lu Junyi, who was a monk in the Taoist temple, and decided to earn money from him. Wu Yong and Li Kui disguised as fortune tellers and dumb daotong went to Daming mansion and lured Lu Junyi to the mountain. Later, Lu Junyi was arrested for Wu Yong's anti poetry and the treason of Li Gu, the general manager, and almost died. Liang Shan sent troops to attack Daming mansion twice, and Li Kui was one of them.
Later, Shan Tingli and Wei Dingguo in Lingzhou were ordered to levy Liangshan. Li Kui went down the mountain alone and tried to kill the two generals in Lingzhou. On the road, Han Bolong, who called himself "Liangshan hero" but did not go up to Liangshan, met Jiao ting and Bao Xu, and took them up to Liangshan.
Later, the two generals of water and fire were accepted by Guan Sheng and went to Liangshan. After Liangshan broke zengtou city and hit Dongping and Dongchang, the Eight Generals of the hundred single army gathered together. According to the name of Tianjiang Shijie, Li Kui was named "Li Kui who killed the stars in the sky and died in the Black Whirlwind", ranking 22, and was also the head of the infantry.
